Went back to look at the bike for a second time the first time the detail idiots flooded it and fouled the plugs, got there yesterday it started right up it was a rough at first but after a few minutes it warmed up a bit and started to clean up and idled right at 1000rpms took it for a quick ride through the gears on a wet.snow/sluch covered road and everythign seems fine, Im happy now I need to get the translucent orange tank cover and flyscreen anyone wanna trade for a black one? also i see slip ons from jardine on ebay for a good deal anyone know of a better price than $282.99? i think the bike has the stock air filter what mod can i do with that K&N and thats it? I really dont wanna spend alot of money on a tune but would liek to hear the exhaust any suggestions? i got the guy down to $3500 and I put it in the back of my truck and drove 2 1/2 hours back home : ) CANT WAIT TO RIDE NOW!!

Dang! That is a good deal. while you're checking out American Sport Bike, check out the exhaust shootout.

It gives a lot of great info about some of the different exhausts. Maybe think about a Drummer. The sponsors can hook you up with an exhaust whatever you decide on. + folks often sell used exhausts here in the classifieds for good prices.

Im so excited I havent had a bike since 2002 and that was a ZX6e it was fast and fun but ever since i test droev the buel and the v twin i was hooked i wasnt to cool on the vibrations but I got over that really quick

im looking to get the following in the next few months before spring comes

slip on pipe...I read the shoot out but just looking for some sound sout of the exhaust without sacrificing any driveablity or computer problems
I really like the oraneg translucent flyscreen and air intake cover
bar end mirrors
frame pucks

cant wait to ride its so damn cold here the bike is still in the bed of my truck parked up against the garage door

i bought it off the younger guy like myself that was in the army when he bought it brand new and he said to me that he put 10k in less than 6 months when he bought it!
he wanted 4k for it but the week before I went to look at it the first time and it wouldnt start so he changed the plugs and it fired up i emailed him and offered the 3500 and he said he would take 3800 i said 3500 and he got back to me a day later and reluctantly he took it : ) bike is clean and Im happy with the purchase just sux that i cant ride it now, i guess i could get a cold weather suite like my brother but id much rather have a new exhaust and mirrors first.....are the slip on jardine pipes good for $282 new from ebay? can i get the flyscreen and tank cover chepaer then $200 for the tank cover? ive been looking but that seems to be the cheapest, can i do a air intake mod? or do i just add a K&N air filter?

ATGATT all the gear all the time. Could just be me. I'd buy some armor for me before getting farkles for the bike. Can buy farkles after the wreck but you have to grow skin. I know you probably already have gear but had to say it for the readers of this post this spring. Your gonna love this bike and ask yourself what was I (ZX6e) thinking. I put 10K mi. on a honda 250 in England in 6 mo. Seems like it rained all the time. How did I do it with out internet weather? When starting it don't touch the throttle for a minute or 2 after it fires.

I know! Im happy I bought it, he originally wanted $3995 but when i first went to look at it the bike wouldnt start he works for a car dealer and had his retailers clean it up and in the process they must have fouled the plugs
while i was there they had the key on and had the throttle all the way open for awhile so im not suprised it didnt start was I disappointed YES, so i went home called him about two days later and he said he was going to change the plugs, he changed the plugs told me it runs fine and he said he would take $3800 I told him $3500 he called me a day later and took the offer : )the bike is still in the back of my truck until it gets nicer out, its covered with a bike cover and a tarp so itll be ok, it needs to be cleaned again! and cant wait to clean ti and ride it again

Dude, just gear up properly (lots of layers under/over good leathers or textile, which you should have already) and get out there and ride. I'm in CT and have done ~500 miles since December first. Layers! A good windbreaker layer on top works wonders, and a neck gaitor. Winter riding gloves too - your hands will turn to ice otherwise.

Smokin deal on that sgc though...

+1 on the Buell purchase. I never testrode any Buell before I bought the XB9R, didn't even drive it before I bought it. I had already ridden a few Jap 600s and a 750 or two. I traded the top end for handling and "soul". Plus imports suck!

American Sport Bike has great parts and good deals, but also check the classfieds at the bottom of the main page.
