I know this is probably a pipe dream but.... would the Helicon ever be able to be swapped into an XB frame? They have a V8 kit for the Ford Focus, so I don't look at anything as impossible now. I know it probably won't, but I just wanna make sure. Imagine how badass that would be....XB1125R/S

why would you want to the 1125 frame is suposed to be better than th xb frame. why not instead try figuring out how to get the rear end of a lightning on to a 1125 just my thoughts.

insomuch as the reasons the 1125R is different from the Firebolt
(the frame and motor are an intimate pair [mounting points] and
cannot be swapped, and the Helicon necessitates the radiator pods),
the 1125R _is_ an XB with a Helicon.

I was just thinking, if it was cheaper to swap in instead of buying an 1125R outright, why not.

It's what the 1125 should have been from the beginning... instead we got that bulbous, pod-equipped eye sore.

If it had looked like this- I would own one now...

The front end looks like some one squished a firebolt.

If it had "looked like this" ^ - it would have weighed probably 50 pounds more than the stock 1125R as it now exists

But I suppose it would have satisfied your inner Martha Stewart by it's looks.

Or saving money, by only replacing the engine on a bike I already own.

By the time you made all of the modifications to get that thing to fit, it would've been cheaper to just get the 1125R.

Plus, considering how THIRSTY that engine is compared to the XB engine, you'll make it down to the end of the street and need to refuel because of the pitiably small amount of fuel the XB frame can hold.

Not to mention you'd also STILL have the problem of where to mount the radiators it would need.

The 'X' brace of the XB frame would interfere with the placement of the Helicon.

You'd have to figure out a way to get rid of that brace and keep the frame stiff.

The good news is that Buell already figured it out : )

modify the radiators/side pods and put a firebolt front fairing on... easier said than done but a hell of a lot simpler then swapping engines.

this gets the old gears a turnin...

I have seen a full fairing 1125r and it look 100 times better then the original one. That would be a lot cheaper then doing the swap

HAH!!!!

T1120.1AM ENGINE UNIT, PREPPED, STD THROTTLE BODY Retail Price:$7,235.00

Last time I checked there is a dealer in Florida selling brand new 08 1125R's for just under $8k. Think about it, for $700 more you can get a whole bike! Then you can sell the wheels to make up the difference : )

I'll reserve judgement on which fairing LOOKS better. Having ridden both the Firebolt and the 1125R, though, I have to say the 1125R fairing WORKS better. Much quieter and less buffeting riding the 1125R. Better than some sport tourers I've ridden, actually!
