So I smashed my front wheel up pretty good. I moved over to pass a car that had stopped in the road and BAM! The hole was at least a foot big and nearly 2 feet deep.I was doing 35-40 MPH. The bike squirmed around a bit but luckily I was able to hold it up.

I have new wheels on the way, but I'm worried about the front axle. Somebody go take a look at their front wheel and tell me if this spacing is normal.

that is a pretty bad one. I would get a new one. I had a rear tire go flat on the freeway and it took me a mile or so to realize it and slow down. well now I too have a bent rim just not that bad. im going to leave mine for now seeing how it is too bent up.

Axle/bearing spacing looks normal to me. That's the way they go together, right bearing up against fork flange, left bearing up against axle flange.

That wheel can be fixed. It's minor.

The same thing happened to me last year. I took my chances by heating it up and banging out the dent. I brought it to the dealer to make sure it was true and balanced. Been riding on it with no problems. Good Luck

New one.

Not worth the risk of repairing the front wheel. Back wheel maybe but not the front.

I definitely just paid for new set a wheels. I have been looking for an excuse to get black wheels anyway! I'll see if I cant find an axle too, just to be safe.

Here, if you have wheel damage and can reasonably show that it's from a pot hole, the city will pay for it.

Put in a claim.

I wonder how many people with 20's and rubberbands for tires, try to claim their rims damage?

The pot hole was in Adana, Turkey. An entire car.....no....... make that an ENTIRE BUS could be swallowed by a pot hole in Turkey and the Turks could care less. In fact, they would charge the driver of the vehicle swallowed to have his vehicle removed!

Fair trade for me I guess. Deal with being treated like an Illegal Immigrant with wads of cash for 15 months, and get to ride along Mediterranean on my days off!

I'll have the Amber wheels for sale when the black ones arrive.
