going to pick up my bike tomorrow from a private owner and was told a dowco is a good cover, what do you guys recommenced for a outdoor cover for my new bike? It will be outside unitl i move things around in the garage so i want something snow rain sleat proof and not to expensive if possible? | ||

If it's really temporary, like a day or two outside, I would either get a cheap one or just just throw a blanket over it and a good tarp over that and tie it down really good. Of course I don't know the severity of your weather conditions so I could be way off base. I'm just saying I wouldn't buy an expensive super duty cover unless it was something I was going to be using all the time. | ||

Wouldn't leave it out too long. Cold is killer on battery and tires, batteries especially. | ||

Look here http://www.newenoughhp.com/accessories/covers/dowc o/pvc_motorcycle_cover.html I bought one as a basic cover. It works, but don't expect much. I tossed it for a basic soft bed sheet (bike is in a garage) Tip: Make sure you put a sock or something similar over your mirrors or the top edge will get scratched when you cover or uncover the bike. | ||

never got a cover yet but a friend says he has a outdoor cover so Im going to use it for now unitl i need somehting else this is going to be outside all the time until spring comes and I clean out the garage and possibly be bale to move the mustang up a foot or more so i can manage to put the bike in the garage along with the mustang went to pick up the bike last friday and the owners detailer flooded/fouled the plugs and it wouldnt start, a week later i email him and he said it was the plugs and he replaced them and its good to go, I offered him $3500 and a day or so later he reluctantly is taking the offer 06 xb12scg 14k ...am i getting a good deal? | ||

I have a Buell cover that I bought new in 2000. It was used one year,indoor's. It has zero stains,flaw's. It is mint. Comes with a bags or pouch to put it in. Its designed for the tubers with bags but will work fine on our bikes as well. Its very thick,water proof and has a soft liner to it. It's also reinforced in the exhaust area if your pipe is still hot.... not that I'd do that though. It went 125.00 new. I'll take 75.00 plus shipping. They don't make these anymore. | ||

Its called Armour Cloak 2. It was designed for S2,S2T,S3 and S3T. But it works great for the XB as well. I had to drape it over some chairs because my bikes are in storage. Let me know?? I'm firm on it.  | ||

Don't understand why they put the bike make on the outdoor covers. It's kind of like announcing to all the bike thieves what you got under the sheet. | ||

Does it matter?? It a bike under a cover. If its under a cover it must be nice enough that the owner wants to take care of it. | ||

Ebay that brand name. The $.99 ones will scratch and don't vent when it gets humid/wet. I had to get the extra large for my full fairing but its WELL worth it. Mine was under a blue tarp held down by three bungie cords until yesterday when it went into storage. I had as much snow on it as the above photo. I wasn't worried until the temp dropped to below -10°C. I wouldn't worry about it for a few days. (I had good intentions for storage over the winter but Plan A fell apart. Dealer has good storage and I don't have time to look for any better.) | ||

isnt it the opposite, heat kills? cuz colder temps are good for electronics I used to think that too. But batteries don't produce as much power in the cold. It's chemistry. The chemical reactions in a battery that producies electricity goes slower when it's colder outside. That's why batteries are rated with CCA, Cold Cranking Amps. The majority of motorcycle batteries have low CCA's. |
