Thats about a normal price.
I do not like the dunlops.H/D does use them so take that for what its worth.Tires are one of those things that you get what you pay for.I'm gonna try some pirellis next time.

I have Pirelli Diablo Rossos on my 12R. I paid like 130 for the front, and 140-150 for the rear. Total after mount & balance (on the bike) was 320 or so.

Over the stock Diablos that come on the 08 they are a big improvement for me, the tires feel alot more planted once warm. They do feel a little more squirrely until you get used to them, they tip in real easily. I can't give an estimate on mileage as I have barely over 1k on the set, but they seem to be holding up as well as the stock Diablos at this point.

So HD using something makes it bad?

Anyway I am not a fan of the few Dunlops I have tried. Loving my Pirelli Scorpion Syncs, switching to Diablo Stradas next round.

Love my Pirelli Scorpion Syncs.
Hated the Dunlops that came on the bike, I removed them with less than 1000 miles on them.

No, but it means it doesnt belong on a sportbike.... IMO
spare no expense for tires, they have to be good through & through....

Q: how long do your tires last?

That depends on too many factors to make a fair comparison. Weight, weather, throttle and brake input, road materials and other things can make a tire last for 18k like me, or 3k for someone else. My tires are long shot and square, but I am waiting till spring to replace them because I won't be going aggressive till then.

I've heard great things about the Michelin Pilots. The dual compound ones with a softer compound on the sides for cornering & a harder compound down the center for cruising.
