Time to put a S tail on my xb9r. Already found the trade. Can someone tell me all the parts to trade?

I've been wanting to do this as well. I have a person who would sell me their rear end off an 03' for 300.00. I am not sure if thats a good price and if I could recoupe of my tail.

if you do a search you will find plenty of info on this. the tail swap is pretty easy.

the parts new for an S tail are around $500 or so (IIRC). i think it is a good price. plus you should be able to sell the R tail for more than you paid for the S tail. ( IIRC the R tail cost around$800 or so new.)

Actually I was going to tell him the same thing, but I DID my own search first, and I couldn't come up with anything on an R to S swap. S to R is a common question, R to S not so much. I never found a parts list.

What do you think this would do to the resale value if you were to sell an R with an S tail? Just curious because I picked up an S tail and debating if I should sell my R rear (not really wanting to have $$ sitting around). I do not plan to sell for a few years but when I do....

I have a friend that is looking to trade his S tail for an R tail.

He is deployed with the Nat'l Guard right now (until Sept), but I have his permission to tear into his bike while he's deployed.

His bike has a set of polished seat rails and a bobbed tail. Standard seat.

I've already swapped tails on my Lightning, so I've been down this road before and know what parts and pieces need to be traded.

Anyone want to trade? If so, please PM me and we'll proceed from there. He'd prefer black plastics, but he also has the Thrust Blue Lightning plastics.
