I see that xopti has the older and newer eproms on his website for the 08s. So here is the question, do you think that I can use ECMspy and upgrade to the newer 08 eprom and... 1. Still maintain the ability to reflash (updating at the dealer removes this abilty)? 2. Fix the lousy mileage, decel popping, coughing off idle, and surging?   Froggy Posted on Monday, January 05, 2009 - 02:13 am:        Your bike can be reflashed with ECMspy regardless of the software thats on your bike right now. The issue people talk about with getting reflashed is that ECMspy gets crippled, and most of the functions will not work correctly, but you can still burn and fetch the EEPROMs no problem.   Id073897 Posted on Monday, January 05, 2009 - 03:18 am:        Your bike can NOT be reflashed with ECMspy Fixed that for you.   Spdkls Posted on Monday, January 05, 2009 - 08:35 am:        until they fix the firmware issues. 08 will have to wait. the only thing i can do with my 08 is run some diagnostics and afv reset. if your dealer is any good he could hook you up. mine offered, but my bike is in storage so it will have to wait a year.
