I used one of these and it worked very well.

The way I used it was to remove the rotor, and put the hone in a drill press.

I clamped a few wood blocks to the drill press table to make a simple jig.

Then a friend rotated the rotor while I applied a light to medium pressure on the hone. I was able to get it really clean and not put any gouges in it.

When I put it back on the bike, I used Lyndall Gold brake pads, and it has all been good since then.

Previously I had had some pulsing as a result of deposits left on the rotor by the stock pads.

Recommended.

Excellent idea !
I have the Lyndall Golds on the bike now but the pulsing is back and the rotor looks glazed.
I have a drill press.
Going to order the hone from Al and try the same. Thanks!!!

Have you tried scotchbrite pads and brake cleaner on the rotor? I have done this when pulsating has happened and it works great. Just don't get the cleaner on the rims!!!
