After installing a race ECM and K&N last week, I installed a race can on my '06 Ss tonight. To all those who told me to do it myself even though I live in an apartment, you couldn't have been MORE right! I got in on in about an hour.

The bike fired up the first time (TPS reset was done last week with the ecm install). I checked for leaks and shut it down. I fired it up again 5-10 minutes later and it stalled. I started it again and gave it a bit of throttle and it stayed lit, then settled down into a 1000 rpm idle. I took it out for a 4 mile ride to reset the AFV. Seems like it's got a little sputter from 2500-3000. Maybe it's always been there and I couldn't hear it, maybe I need some more miles on it.

The sound is great. I couldn't imagine having anything louder but that's just me. I did the work in a parking deck, and now I know every car here that's got an alarm

Thanks again to everyone who gave me advice on this.

You will usually lose a little midrange when you go from the standard ecm or exhaust but should pick up a little in the top end.

Hah, car alarms. Just for curiosity's sake, how many owners' showed up to check their cars?

Nice to know it was so straightforward.

Not one. No one showed up to check and there for 4 or 5 blaring. I'm in Pasadena CA, where you'll see an 89 Toyota Corolla parked next to an Aston Martin DBS in an apartment's lot. Strange stuff.
