Question?

I want to get the special ops exhaust for my Uly?

The girlfriend & I tour on this bike often & use a bluetooth intercom.

I also commute in DC traffic, & want the noise from the exhaust as on my previous bikes, but I know just how loud Buells can be?

Thoughts from those who use the bike, is this exhaust going to be too loud?

I don't have a Spec Ops pipe (yet : ) ), but I may be able to provide some insight:

I ride an XB9S with a race pipe. My girlfriend and I use BluAnt Interphones (bluetooth headsets) for communicators- I have used Scala, Nady and Chatterbox, and these are EASILY the best intercoms I have ever used. They are up to about 55 mph, at speeds above that the wind and exhaust noise just overpowers the intercom. They still do a great job of filtering the sound, but I just can't get enough volume out of them to overpower the bike sounds. And they are LOUD- I simply would not want a speaker in my ear any louder than I have them as I would fear hearing loss.

In the American Sport Bike exhaust shootout, the race pipe tested at 120 db, the Spec Ops pipe 123 db. That 3 db will give you approximately double the perceived volume....but that's a max level. The piece of info I am missing for you is what the difference between the 2 is at cruising speed. My guess is that it will be louder than my race pipe.
