I've come down from some wheelies a little more clumsily than I would've liked & after noticed strange clicking noise while breaking ( both forward breaking pads are moving in caliper ???)plus some vibration on low speed while breaking ????. Bike have only 500 miles & I still discovering different noises considering that is my first Buell. Is that sound normal???

my front brake clicked and vibrated for a while maybe 1300 miles. And I don't do wheelies. Well nothing over 2 inches when accelerating hard. Dealership said it was just break in of pads/rotor. Anyways its gone now at 8,000 miles.
Have it checked, better safe than sorry and your brakes are something you want to have confidence in...

Helga. block up front of bike, spin wheel and check for bent rim or rotor. if ok, check your brake pads. if they look glazed or oiled, clean in alcohol, scuff with 220 grit, see if that helps. and have someone take pics of your wheelstand for us. ride safe... dean

I heard a clickin sound too and felt some vibration.
My friend said it was possibly a warped rotor.
Took the bike down to local dealer, they looked at it and did some kind of measurment on the head bearing and also checked the rotor.
Could not find anything. The mechanic explained to me that the noise(clicking) was because of the floating disc. The disc was slightly moving when the brake was applied.
Just my experience with that.
I must add though, I don't hear or have that clicking or vibration anymore!

I have exactly the same thing in my front end, it clicks when you apply the front brakes, you can hear it with the engine off, right? ...and also have no idea what it is. I know it is NOT the caliper or pads moving, not the disk, I think maybe it is the upper end of the inner fork tubes moving inside the outers? I only can hear it, not feel it, so I'm not too concerned, but will continue to investigate. I, too, have learned to wheelie, and continue to do so often, on this bike.

Thanks guys for quick answers & suggestons.Yesterday I spoke with one dealer and he said that sound is normal. Bike is great for our twisty roads and I enjoy a lot riding this beast,but not so many bikes are sold in this part of world (only two so far) and my nearest dealer is 500 miles away and I really appreciate your help.

Check the steering head bearings.
Mine developed a clicking after someone did a lot of wheelies.
You might have to re-tighten them.

I thought I remembered reading in the service manual that the steering head bearings were non-adjustable?
Is that correct?

No. I have had to tighten mine a couple times.
That front end just won't stay on the ground.

the procedure is to loosen the pinch bolts on the lower triple tree,loosen the pinbolt at the steering stem nut,loosen the steering stem nut and turn the wheel to full left and full right a few times. then torque the stem nut to 38-42 ft/lbs turn wheel to full right and hook a hook spring scale thru axle hole. and pull to the center. the resistance should be 1-7 lbs.

when finished tighten the steering stem pinch fatenner to 17-19 ft/lbs and the lower pinch bolts to 13-15 ft/lbs.

don't forget to detach the clutch the cable before you do any of this and of course reattach when finished. or you won't be able to do any wheelies.
