Sean that is a terrific little trick the MXers know by heart. Works like a champ. Probably could still use it on the XB but would have to remove the fender and 'shape' the top part which will hit the lower triple clamp. |

So if you can't use straps to pull the front end down, how are you guys strapping your bikes down without the use of any wheel chalks? My xb12 is loose as can be in the back of my truck unless I compress the front fork down a little bit. |

I use Canyon Dancers on the grips, and I have tie-down cleats on my bed rails. The straps are pulling more in a lateral direction than they are pulling down. There's some compression on the bike as I drive over bumps, but very little side-to-side movement. Oxygen151, You're supposed to compress the forks, just don't compress them all the way. You need to leave a little travel. |
