My set arrived last night. Nice! Man, there's a level of quality there that you just don't find with other brands. Woodcraft reartsets are made to be crashed and reused. | ||

K3xb... I agree with you 100%. Woodcraft makes a terrific product. I have both the Woodcraft clip-ons and rearsets on my race bike and keep several in stock for my online store at www.grandstanddesigns.com. However, I have crashed the rearsets several times and have not yet been able to "reuse" the rearset on the downed side. If you plan on racing/trackday with these, my advice would be to keep an extra set on hand. It is very frustrating when you are unable to continue to participate in an event because you have no way of making repairs after a very minor low side. I learned this the hard way. Hmmm. I've had other Buell racers tell me they were bulletproof. I've had Woodcraft rearsets on other makes of bike and have found that they've lasted forever. When you bend them, you just grab two thick plates of aluminum and a big hammer, make yourself a rearset sandwich and wail away until the piece is straight. Here's a question for you XBCrazy. The shifter I received looks to be the wrong one. My bike is a Firebolt and the instructions list the parts as being for an XB9. Everything else worked fine. Is there a different shifter for the Firebolt or will I just have to reuse the stock shifter? (Message edited by k3xb on December 21, 2008) | ||

I'm just offering my experience here. Two low-sides, two mangled rearsets. And I mean mangled, way beyond tweeked. My main point is that a set of spare sides is a good idea. I would be very, very surprised to find any trackside vendor at any race venue have this product in stock. | ||
