What would be the best way to re-finish the primary and gear covers? I would like to make these parts black like the 9s.

Could someone please tell me if the primary and gear covers on the 9S and 12S are compatible?

I talked to a parts guy today at the local HD boutique and he told me the primary and gear covers on the 9S and 12S are not compatible.

Could Bubba or Dave confirm this?

Hard luck: i am certain that there was not a redesign of the primary cover or inspection cover on the XB12. the parts will interchange.

I could confirm it IF I was at work. But I'm not
I would think that they are interchangeable.
I'll try to remember to look on Friday.

The maroons, Brian, are looking at the different part numbers and not actually looking at the parts. The numbers would be different since one is black and one is magnesium colored.

Hardluck you could always just order the "wrinkle black" from Eastwood company and do it yourself.

Some days I wonder what the average IQ of these idiots is?
How do these same people make it to work without being run over is beyond me.
It would drive me completely CRAZY to have to work with people that fricking stupid every day.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not the sharpest crayon in the box either but come on.

See that is a big difference, you guys enjoy the bikes you work on and sell parts for. As has been pointed out we are the red-headed step children. We don't buy the chrome or the mega dollar bikes so we get the poor treatment. A friend of mine that has a sportster runs into the same treatment often enough.

I think those guys are just tired of staring @ our asses on the streets and in the twisties and they have to take the frustration out on us somehow!
