This weekend I removed the exhaust headers from my TT. Never having done this, I pretty much followed the manual and disconnected about everything it said to. This weekend I removed the exhaust headers from my TT. Never having done this, I pretty much followed the manual and disconnected about everything it said to. One of the things it said to disconnect was the Nylon fuel line elbow where it is connected the fuel rail at the injectors. To get the elbow off, I had to trim a plastic 5/16” fuel line separation tool. Initially there were some problems sliding the separator into the elbow. On the elbow there are two locking tabs. After lifting the tabs, the tool slid in and I was able to remove it from the fuel rail. When I lifted the tabs they came off of the elbow. They were fairly easy to lift up and I heard nothing snap. I inspected the elbow and tabs with a magnifier and found nothing broken. There are two slots in the elbow where two little protrusions on the tabs slide into. Even though the tabs still go into the elbow, they do not seem to lock or snap into place tightly. Is this normal, or should I consider replacing the fuel line elbow? | ||

I've never had a Buell fuel line apart, but what you described is standard fare on most injected GSXR machines. I'd say you don't have a problem. I think you should snap it all back together and see if the line is securely fastened and leak free. If it is, sounds like you're OK. |
