I bought some ebay specials at the beginning of summer and they work absolutely great. They cost $34 and I believe the ebay seller is Moto Delux. They work great, they stay put, and have very very little vibration at all.

I bought a set of CRG's they are expensive but very well made. I got them on Ebay used from a guy that had them on a Moto Guzzi. I almost bought me a set of $35 mirrors from Ebay, but I decided to go with CRG because they are made in the USA and I can get replacement parts for them and I support USA business whenever I can. The main reason for me buying a Buell..

Got the CRGs, love em. Do yourself a favor and search for mirrors up there ^^ and you'll find lots of useful posts with tons of different popular mirror styles used over the years.

I don't remember how much, but American Sport Bike gets $85 each for em here:
http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-prodshow/5570-LS.html

Lots of people will tell you to buy the third-eye bicycle mirrors for like $13 each or whatever. They may work fine, but I'll tell you 2 things that made me go with CRG: the quality is second to none (and third eyes are plastic), and I don't like how some bar end mirrors stick straight out from the end of he bar like the head on a lollipop- personal preference, but i like the slight rise of my CRGs:

I also bought mine from Moto Delux on ebay for $34, they are excellent! Moto Delux is a guy that works at a Miata shop 15 minutes from me. He said he gets the mirrors from a machinist, who does make them in the states.

My opinion is the CRG's are way over priced!

Probably, but I've never heard a quality complaint about them!

Bottom line is, if you want the best for your bike, go with the CRG's. Get the lane splitters if you want to save some space when the bike is parked.

To:Happy1,
I have had both kinds.
CRG are the best but yes they are a little expensive.
2" not 3" look best to me.Your rear view
is more limited with the 2's but you asked what looked the best.
Anyway you can go directly to CRG's website and shop for what you want. That is what I did.
2"-$49.00 each
3"-$69.00 each (I think)
I wish you the best with your shopping.
I hope my info helped some.
Happy Holidays from Tulsa,OK-USA
Lesley
p.s.I agree with the guys that the cheap ones from e-bay are great also.

Yeah I tried the third eye plastic bicycle mirrors as well. I like them but I live in Oklahoma and the extreme temps hot and cold tend to make plastic brittle.Of course at $12.00 each it isn't too costly to replace yearly.I just got to thinking how silly it was to have a nice Buell motorcycle with bicycle mirrors.They do work pretty good though.}

What Boliver said.

I didn't mind spending the bucks on the CRGs. I have seen them side-by-side with the ebay ones ( I have the eBay ones on my girlfriends Blast), and there really is no comparison in quality and finish. But for $36, not bad at all!

I think it would be fair to say that even tho the CRGs are higher quality, you maybe get slightly less than you pay for with them, with the ebays you get slightly more than you pay for.

I got the cheapies as well. My throttle side mirrors is perfect. The clutch side mirror wouldn't tighten up enough, then it didn't help when while weaving through cones in a construction zone I a cone with the mirror. That pretty much did it in. I'm only running one on the right side now.

Check to see if your state allows you to run only 1 mirror. This will save you some coin.

"Check to see if your state allows you to run only 1 mirror. This will save you some coin."

I don't care what my state say is safe, I want to see what is coming up on both sides of me. Even at $65 for the 2nd mirror is well worth that much needed info IMO. And yes I do a lane check also. :-)

"which crg's did you get? 2" or 3"?

Sorry- just noticed your questions!

Mine are 3"

I like view for a couple of reasons: first, they are outside of my elbows. I have nothing obstructing my view behind them. Secondly, they don't have the same vibration issues that the lollipops have. Also, they have a wider field of view than the stockers because the glass is convex (like the passenger mirror on cars)...which leads me to my only real gripe about them: the convex mirrors always make things look smaller and therefor further away than they actually are! I have always been one to ALWAYS look over my shoulder anyway, so it's not really an issue, it's just a bit surprising sometimes to see a car in your mirror that looks like it's 5 car lengths back only to look over your shoulder and see it's really right there!

All-in-all, I would take them over the stock mirrors for both looks and functionality ANY day. I have also had some other mirrors that mount in the stock location, and I just gotta say that I love looking at bar ends much better.

I'm running 3 in. CRG's, and can actually discern things like push bars on those unmarked patrol cars. Saved me a ticket when I was able to slow it down in time.
I mounted mine on the bar ends by moving the grip sets in about 5/8 in. It looked tighter, but my elbow was a bit in the picture. My latest Lightning has the bar end adapters which move the mirror out just past my elbow picture.
Either way they run reasonably clear. They're cool !

CRG Lane splits. Ebay. Like $120 a pair. There's usually nothing to see behind me anyway.

You won't find those bar end adapters anywhere though. I turned them out of billet on my friends lathe. I also weighted the ends of the handlebars. (cuts vibration down considerably)

Thanks happy1. I figured I can pull the mirrors in and do a nice number on the side of the next SUV that cuts me off in traffic. Everybody tells me they're dangerous but I run an open front pulley too.

That is called a pulley skin. I got it from Al at http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-prodshow/6120.html My bikes an 03 with 04 pulley conversion. I cut the factory cover down on a bandsaw and trimmed it up a little with a razor knife. Tight like 1/16" tolerance around the pulley. Thanks for the compliments.
