I am considering getting the tripleclamp from the Firebolt installed on my next Lightning. Does anyone know how much this conversion will be and what parts are necessary?

Why? Crossroads makes a bar conversion to get that clip on feel for about$280. It bolts to the existing riser on the lightning triple clamp. If you switch you have to move all the front wiring and you lose your gauges since they bolt onto the triple for the lightning but not for the bolt.

2 handelbar screws
uppertriple tree
and left had grip

$177.25
minus the bad web discount of $17.71
comes to $159.54

Why Wycked?...

The Firebolt tripleclamp was created and tested specifically for these bikes; And I have faith in Erik and his R&D Department. Bubba chime in if I am wrong, but I do not think it will be as difficult as Wyckedflesh makes it seem. And from the looks of it, the price is much better.

actually I spoke to soon
wyked is right. I forgot about the fact that the r tripl clamp holds the ignition switch so it has this hum right in it that wont allow you to mount up correctly. I stand corrected.

sorry about that

So is there any reasonable way to do this or is it totally out of the question?

Wycked...do have any photos and a link to the conversion you mentioned?

Couldn't you simply chop off the ignition switch part?

Yes. You could lop off the ignition switch & relocate it. But the upper triple still won't work, b/c the bar sockets interfere w/ the gauge housing, too.
