200/50 will fit but it really shouldn't be on the rim. |

The stock rim is designed for 180 and 190 tires. You can fit others, but putting it on will be a bit of a bitch, and it will affect handling. |

Sorry, I know a fellow member that has one on his Buell. He goes by Rieguy on the board. He is also a member of a pretty recognized stunt team in my area. Like I said it doesn't belong on the rim but its not unsafe neither. |

190 fits, but in my opinion, it doesn't look much wider that the 180. I guess it depends on which brand/tire you go with. |

I don't hear of any Vrod guys blowing up tires or having failures with the 200 on their 5" rims that came stock with the 180. If you're shooting for looks other than performance, I think you'll be ok with a 200. "190 fits, but in my opinion, it doesn't look much wider that the 180. I guess it depends on which brand/tire you go with." Mostly has to do with rim width. A 200 on a 5.5" looks alot wider than if its on a 5" rim. |

The rim is not the ideal width for 190. You could very well experience distortion of the tire's profile. Its a bad place to be experimenting. Find out what is *recommended* for this rim width, and stick with it. |

They do just fine sheesh!!! Been doing it for years. My tire doesn't distort. Some of us want a look and don't race anyways. |

Yeah you got a problem with that??? Mine is a custom yours is whatever you want it to be. If you want to troll find another site. Your comments are funny considering you have LED's hung all over your bike and a polished frame.LOL |

I love this place... Do whatever the F you want to your bike and love it. If you care what others think, go buy a dang busa. Dana, I like your bike. But if I had it I would need a couple more so I would not ruin it!LOL Ochooa, you want a mostly polished swingarm?? I have one I would let go of. |

The guy asked for a reason . Different strokes for different folks but I recomend not doing whatever the F you want that can get you into trouble if you don't know what your doing. Thats why hand grenades have clips and pins, and forks don't go in the toaster ever. |

The guy asked for a reason No he didnt... Original post: i've got an 07 12r and want a little wider tire stock is a 180 but due to belt i dont think i can get much wider anyone? Maybe I dont understand english but that does not sound like a reason... One guy "SPECULATED" he'll probably get killed with a 200 because the radius/tire-patch will be all warped and not right!!! Without any knowlege of the guys riding style or preference. Maybe like others he is after a look and never pushes the bike. Even if he does I doubt he would get "killed" because of a tire profile, stupidity yes, tire being wider, no. Like I said, I love this place.... |

yea my bike looks great but also preforms with the best, and I think a polished swingarm will be too much bling for the bike so I'll keep it painted, thanks though. (another take-it-out-of-stock-specs pet-peeve) I also get frustrated with people who want to lower their bike so their feet can touch the floor. from another forum.... ""alright i cannot find my thead, but i found some pictures.... to do it right, you have to lower both the front and the back of the bike... 3inches lowerin back, 3 inches lower in front... it will keep the bike more balanced (even though your already throwing it off of the specs and ground clearance, bad mojo) The rear, replace this, with these, they're lowering links, and adjust accordingly and keep measurements The front, simply loosen the forks from the tripple tree's and let gravity do the work. I wouldnt do them both at once because it can drop really fast if you're not carfull. So loosen one of the sides, the right lets say, loosen both the top right and lower right tripple tree, and shimmee the right fork up. tighten up the right and then adjust the left side. You migh have to do this more than once... And dont forget to keep the measurements accurate and make sure the forks are EVENLY matched both left and right. I used a digital caliper to get it to the thousanth. I was told that unevenness can do bad things, so i pass the word ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ One thing wrong, ok several things wrong with lowering is that it throws the bike of its specs, which were specifically designed to work at what your are changing it from. Which my owners manual says "adjudsting your suspension out of reccomended specifications can adversely affect stability and handling, which could result in death or serious injury." Another is that the lean angle will be effected and lessened to where you will be scraping parts that arn't supposed to the scraped, so you might slide farther than normal. Another is it will be harder to wheelie, which I dont think you're ready for, im just saying it so you will know all the information of what you are doing. And braking may get seriously bad if you lower it too low, because when you lower the front, the forks are forced into a shorter gap between the tire and the lower tripple tree, if lowered too low the TIRE can & may break the plastic faring and touch the lower tripple tree. Have you have ridden a bicycle? have you ever gone really fast and then put your foot in the front tire? well i was stupid enough to do so, and i flipped over prettly hard!!"" |

Im trying to keep the sport clean Good luck with that. This isn't a place for you to tell us your pet peeves on what we should or shouldn't do. The tire does no harm. There is many area's of Buell enthusiasts. Touring,Streetfighter, streetfighter custom, sportbike, sportbike custom, classic, racers, and so on and so on. Different strokes for different folk's. Its what make the BadWeb a great place for me and other's. |

he'll probably get killed with a 200 because the radius/tire-patch will be all warped and not right!!! I just wanted to point out that a 5.5 inch rim is michelins recommended width for a 200/50. MICHELIN 200/50ZR-17 M/C 75W PILOT SPORT HPX DIMENSIONS Inflated Width/Measuring Rim Width: 8.2 in./6.0 in. Inflated Diameter: 25.0 in. Acceptable Rim Width: 5.5-6.0 |

he'll probably get killed with a 200 because the radius/tire-patch will be all warped and not right!!! Probably not killed but it will change the way it turns/falls into a corner. Would look tough though. A few careful rides should make him aware of the different way it handles compared to the stock width. |
