The new style is better. My old one broke and caused the cable to burn on the header.

Can someone consolidate the many threads about this?

Called Buell Customer Service last week to see if there was any warranty action in the works for my '04 xb12s - "Nope!", was the reply.

So went to LBS and bought new style clip ($12) Very nice improvement.

Did I get tooled by Buell CS?

No.

The program applies to ONLY 2008 XB models.

In that case money well spent - although it will be a quiet weekend with 3 less pints of Guinness in hand

I changed to the new style early this season for my '07 9R. Kind of ticks me off that Buell is only calling for the update on the '08's.

My 07 clip was busted and I ponied up the coin for then new style. I just bent it to go around the cable instead of bothering with removing and reinstalling the whole clutch cable
