Now that we are so far off the thread of the initial post that we would feel like home on the dark side of the moon... Here's a few questions to get back to business.

Can we get an ECM thread in the knowledge vault so we centralize discussions on this topic in one place?

Are the valves the same on the 9 and 12 heads and would it make sense to open them up while doing headwork - pro's, cons, etc.

Would the refit of the heads with bigger valves require a complete in-shop tuning with one-off exhaust or could one order the heads, exhaust and map and install on their own with similar (+-3% performance gains?)

Btw - Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I'll start with a shallow bit of something...

I'm thankful that a family has taken me in and treats me as one of their own, especially around dinner times. I'm thankful to have grown up in a forgiving culture and to have been able to participate in as many things as I have. I'm really thankful to have as much as I have when I know there are others who have less, waaaay less. I'm thankful for my education and my skills and talents however they manifest. I know this is silly, but I'm really thankful for my cat and the new guy 'Dirty Al' who was raised in a frat house and acts like it.

Oh yeah, I'm thankful there are folks like Blake who have the talent, skills, vision and luck to pull off such a thing as BadWeb.

Happy Thanksgiving to all. What are you thankful for?

I'm thankful for this thread to entertain me on my way out the door to watch the Packers with some friends !!!

Don't know any of you, but it sure is fun reading !!

Is she walking out to go for a ride on her Buell?

With that hair she doesn't need a helmet.

And with those warts she doesn't need frame sliders.

Looks like she's all set!

By the way, how do you feel about the way he acted? You must know all the details, otherwise you wouldn't be passing judgement on my statement, right?"

I certainly don't know all the details since I wasn't there. I can only make my decision based on the posts that I have read here, just like most everyone else. But I do know who all helped Rocket in his quest to get over here. And as I recall, I was one of those others. If you don't want Sean as a house guest, that is certainly your perogative. But to imply that everyone feels the same way about Rocket that you do is most definitely condescending and rude.

Court dear, as for my needing to prove wisdom and maturity I'll offer this much.......

If I was as stiff and miserably serious as some I'd have quit riding years ago. Like Blake said, we've all got warts yours however are disguised by your silver tongue. Put simple you talk a lot of shit - but you do have a knack for being entertaining with it. Sorry Court but who made you the all seeing Buell god? Yourself?

Incidentally your comments about what Badweb should be used for are a further example of your manipulative influence here. Don't worry though - you're not alone in doing so.

Aaron said,

Pammy, how is it condescending for me to consider the happiness of all of my guests?

Excuse me Aaron but for the most YOU didn't. You spent nearly all your time in the workshop. You should be sorry.

Do you think I should invite him again even if it means others won't come?

I'd love to know who you're referring to? Hell I reckon I made more friends at your place than you did. Either way I'd prefer you just tell me to 'get lost' rather than make those other folks welfare your excuse.

By the way, how do you feel about the way he acted?

How did I act? I was helpful, courteous and charming to everyone.

I was half expecting to wake up one morning and find you swinging from the tree outside.

Would that be because the first night I was there I played your CD's on the lowest volume through the night ( I fell asleep)? Sorry.

Was it because I smoked grass on your deck? Sorry.

Was it because I kept Henrik awake one night when he chose to sleep outside on the trampoline? Those of us that stayed up late went outside of the house so as not to disturb those inside sleeping - or trying to sleep. Sorry.

Was it because I didn't wan't to leave the pole dancing bar after we'd just sat down with our first beer (about 10 minutes in the place) ? Sorry.

Wait a minute I've got it. It's because I spent the day crossing the DOUBLE YELLER. Not sorry.

What got this going is my saying I don't like the way Nallin Racing has hijacked this board. Some guy came here and was honest enough to say he found Nallin's pricing expensive. I acted on that post because I believe that you're ownership of Nallin Racing is another example of manipulative influence here on Badweb and Woe betide those Buell nay sayers or anyone it seems that poses a threat to your possible customer demographic or just simply to your liking. Hell I remember a time when the XB's just didn't do it for you. How things change eh?

Something else, it was you who threw the first stone. Your reply to Brion's post which you deleted was in your usual conceited manner. I criticized your post for that reason. You retorted with I have to admit, you are certainly an expert on impoliteness and discourtesy. You really believe that? I don't think so. In fact I'd say you just don't like me.

Man this place use to be a scream.

Actually, I haven't noticed any warts on Henrik, or Peter yet.

Ahhhh ha ha ha haaah - you just don't know me well enough ...... yet

I'm thankful for friends. Friends, who despite "silence" from me for long periods of time, still take the time to touch base and really care how I'm doing. Friends, with whom, when we meet again, I'm right on the same wavelength with within minutes. Friends who are there for me when it counts.

I'm thankful for my parents health - being elderly citizens, and despite health issues, they're still around, on the ball and able to take care of themselves and live lives they're happy with.

Happy for my family in general doing well.

The list goes on and on, and that I'm thankful for.

In that perspective, the "disagreements" here are so infinitely unimportant. Chill out, have a sip of your beverage of choice and realize that.

Henrik

Pammy, I guess I don't have a problem being rude and condescending to someone who's being a jerk. I'm a little confused as to how you concluded I was talking about you (since you weren't here) and how you read that it would be unanimous. And I'm especially confused as to how you could pass judgement without knowing the facts. But whatever.

Rocket, that's one hell of a rationalization, I have to admit. Interesting world you live in.

Rocket, stop being a wanker because someone doesn't agree with you; and don't forget to take your irrational paranoia medication this morning as I get the feeling you've forgotten your anti - "Nallin's taking over the XB world hysteria" pills - take two with a glass of hot milk (remember? ;) )

Even though I could not contain my desire above, I for one am sick of reading juvenile attempts at derogatory sarcasm and humour when we should be talking about the benefit or lack thereof of porting and polishing XB heads - and if some out there have other addresses than Nallins, then let it be known and let's get this discussion back on track.

Aaron, best reply sometimes is none at all. Better yet, how about shedding some light on how you are going to work the 12 heads differently than the 9's due to the different flow patterns on exhaust / intake...

Sometimes when you have a problem with EVERYBODY, you may want to consider that one consistancy is you !!!

Insulting everyone is a no win situation, and especially insulting someone who's invited you into their home, well that's disgraceful !!

You might consider that others reading those posts would not invite you into their homes for fear of what you would publicly post about them afterward. Some things really should be kept private !!

example of your manipulative influence here.

Adults cannot be manipulated unless they choose to let themselves be manipulated !!

My 2 cents for what it's worth, just at work today and it's a slow day !! Wish I was shopping instead !!

This is just way toooooo much!!!!!!!

Personal problems, relationships, etc, etc, etc are better left out of here!!!!!!Sometimes opinions too!!!!!

Oh well,

I'm outta here to fix a big red problem that is sitting in my driveway for the past week while parts were arriving!!!!!!

I'd also like to point out that some here have offered advice on things (privately through e-mail) without question or asking for anything in return.

I guess what I am trying to get at here is that if you have a problem with someone its far better to go directly to that person than to air your dirty laundry.

Now can we all kiss and make up!!!!Working as a team (even with our minor differences) we are much more powerful than on our own.

Rocket - If you slip me the tongue, I'm gonna have to drop ya. hahahahahahaha

Kaudette sure I'm the wanker - because I went against the grain of Nallin Racing.

CJ you're kidding right?

Insulting everyone is a no win situation, and especially insulting someone who's invited you into their home, well that's disgraceful !!

I insulted no one. As I already pointed out it was Aaron who threw the first stone and it was he who chose to mention something about polling the others with regard to my staying at his home in future times - a rather insulting and veiled way of saying 'fuck off you're not welcome'. What he failed to point out was how much fun I was as a guest and how helpful and courteous I was - and of course those wonderful gifts I sent him as a thank you.

You do well to judge me from afar. Thanks for your support.

For what it's worth (and I'm still pretty new to the board) I never got the impression that Nallin Racing was in charge in any way shape or form. I noticed that Rocket has a tendency to speak his mind. That's cool by me, everyone has the right.

That said though... They say 70% of communication is body language and tone of voice. You get none of that through e-mail so one needs to be careful with what they say so as not to be taken wrong. I think there was at least a little mis-communication in this thread. I'm not trying to give the protagonists of the thread a way out/excuse/scape goat, I think it's truly the case. ANyway, that's my worthless 2c.

After looking a little deeper though...
Aaron is indeed on the moderator list...
Rocket does seem a tad overbearing. There's a difference between having/stating an opinion and having/stating an opinion that seems personally biased against an organization that appears to be "big brother" in your eyes.

CJ you're kidding right?

Nope, my statement was a generalization in regards to anyone hurling insults, but it's certainly valid and true.

I totally stand behind that statement !!

I insulted no one.

Now your joking right ??? Seemed to me you WERE insulting, even to Court who I saw nothing in his post to prompt your insult to him ??

I don't like the way Nallin Racing have hijacked this board.

Looked like to me if there was a first stone thrown the above statement was it ??

Prior to that post the discussion was about port & polishing heads, not sure where that post had any relevance to the discussion !

What got this going is my saying I don't like the way Nallin Racing has hijacked this board.

Isn't that saying you got the insult discussion going ??

Aaron's first post was to intelligently figure out the percentage of posts and prove to you that he has NOT hijacked the board, how can you disagree with the numbers ???

I probably won't get an invite next year either

Maybe if you hadn't posted the above after you were invited into his home, he may not have retaliated with his polling comment ???

I'm not judging you from afar or anyone, I don't know you or Aaron, I'm just reading the posts and putting in my two cents worth, killing time until I can go home for the weekend !!!

I'm sometimes insulting too unintentionally by no means am I perfect, but I'd hope someone would give me a friendly reminder that I could regret the things I say and put into perspective just how rude and ugly they may sound to others ???

Don't hold my opinions against me, I'm done here, I need to try and actually earn my living now, it's just a slow day because of the Holiday !!

I didnt read where Rocket offended anyone. Back when everyone took up a collection to get his ass over here for the salt flats & then for months afterwards all everyone said was good things. But now that the tide has changed & Rocket is upset with his bike the feelings appear to be changing with some folks. Its almost as if because he is pissed about Buell that these folks who brought him into their home cant be associated with him anymore because they now have a difference of opinion.

He never said Nallin was "big brother". Just pointing out that when someone comes in & says they do good work but are overpriced that person gets jumped on real damn hard. I will agree that Aaron & the Nallins know what the hell they are talking about & get results with these motors, but if someone can find a way to do the same job for less $$$ why not do it or at least attempt it? I dont know about anyone else here but I do know a lot of folks on this board personally & none of us have a magic money tree in the yard. $1100 for a set of heads or $4500 for the full XB9 treatment is a hell of a lot of money. We have children who go to school, need braces, go grocery shopping etc. If we have a few extra $$$ to spare then it goes into the bike.

Some of the posters here act as if the money fund is unlimited & its no big deal to just pull your motor & ship it to Nallin or Pammy.

Then to start ripping on Rocket because he stuck up for the guy is just BS. That does almost sound a bit like big brother. Its fine to have a personal bias & like the work of Nallin, but to blast someone who is trying to save a few dollars or maybe learn something at the same time is wrong.

Why should anyone be "afraid" to speak their mind? Hopefully we are all adults here & not simply a flock of mindless sheep. It would be nice if someone could post a difference of opinion or a different way of looking at things without having folks jump on them. Unfortunately it appears that if anyone strays off the path they are beaten senseless untill they either submit or simply cave in.

If we all had the same opinions & ideals it would be pretty damn boring in the world.

Personally I think it was entirely appropriate for him to question the price. Hey, it's his hard-earned money. People should always try to make sure they're getting their money's worth.

I've had a nice e-mail exchange with Brion. He's a stand-up guy.

Fullpower - I know the 9 and 12 heads are the same however I was wondering if they should be in terms of porting and valve size given the displacement and flow patterns - if we are talking about stage 1, 2, 3 jobs...??

Should they turn out the same, has any 12 specific design / thought gone into this - or would they just end up the same from a flow perspective as the 9's?

Maybe I'm way off the mark (rudimentary mechanics) however I would believe that if they end the same after the port job as a 9's, then we're still looking at a restricted "system" with the header / exhaust behind a 12 vs. a 9.
