Question for anonymous smart guy: IS the OTC monitor Elite diagnostic scan tool the physical equivalent of the Digital Technician HD-44750 ? second question; what is the part number for the Buell cartridge to fit this device? if this works out, and with your assistance, some of us will be able to work on our ddfi systems. thank you in advance for your help, dean

The Digital Technician is a software program that runs on a laptop PC; together, reputed to cost a grand total of $10,000. The Buell Cartridge part# is B-41325-99. The "special" cable for connection between scantool and bike is part# HD-42921. The OTC Monitor Elite is the FUNCTIONAL equivalent of the Scanalyzer.

doof thanks for the info. i think the dealer tech guys told me that the scanalyzer is no good for the xb12, and i have to have the use of the "DIGITAL EXAMINATOR" not looking good at this point. iREALLY dont want to put the bike in the pickup truck. how are we doing on the bootleg software to allow us XB owners to acheive the nirvana of a finely zeroed TPS? keep posted... dean

Your dealer is correct, the scanalizer does not accurately reset the TPS on XB models.

I haven't made much progress on the programmer, and even when I do, we'll need a digital tech setup to make the recording. I'll continue though.

Anon-

Is it true that HD is phasing out the Scanalyzer completely?

In the process of phasing out the scanalyzer will the older bikes still require access to a scanalyzer, or is something else coming along to replace the scanalyzer?
