Brion,

After checking into the site you recommended I must ask that you cease to post links to it. It is clearly a for profit business. While I am sure much if not all of the advice is worthy of review, I do not want to allow competitors of the BadWeB sponsors to benefit from free advertising on BadWeB. It just isn't fair to the paying sponsors who pony up to keep the BadWeB running. If Corey is willing to help sponsor BadWeB, then BadWeB can be available for his marketing needs. Otherwise, please, no more grattis plugs for his site.

Thank you for understanding.

Blake

Blake,

You know I did not really think of it that way I just thought your site was for helping Buell enthusiasts learn more about how to better enjoy their bikes, learn to get better performance out of them, etc. I did not even realize that all of the sites that had links on your posts were sponsors. That being said I understand why I was ridiculed for complaining about Nallin Racing. I think I am begining to see the rules at your site. As for usefull information, on the thread that I started how much of that do you think was usefull. I only posted the other site to reinforce what I was saying about the Nology wires which I also posted a link to, I guess they don't sponsor your site either. I am beginning to see the light. If you post something positive about one of your sponsors good boy if otherwise bad boy. If you don't like my opinion restrict me from your site. I won't loose any sleep, hell maybe 1% of the replies to my thread had anything to do with the topic maybe you should have a talk with some of those guys instead of jumping on me when I was only trying to enlighten some people of my good experiences. Sorry that I thought that's what it was all about. Maybe you should send the members a list of sponsors it is ok to mention in their posts.

Actually, I haven't noticed any warts on Henrik, or Peter yet.

That's probably because my computer time has been drastically reduced since we moved.

Guys, this is not good to see.
I have met you. Most of you are good people. (I'm reserving my opinion of you again, Rocket... this need of yours to be noticed by others, in any sort of light, is sad).
Pammy and Aaron.
Damn. You are both stand up people.
Pammy, I don't think you like to forgive, but I don't think he meant it. Please forgive him.
Aaron, you've got red hair and a quick reaction to go with it. Please sit with a beer first before you bight.
Rocket, give up the drugs. They're making you paranoid. If you can't get over your need for public attention, try to get it by doing something positive, not just finding an opening to stir shit. Dyna already has that well covered.

I have to go away again, so I won't get to see any replies for a while. Hope we're all drinking beers happily together again when I get back.

Peter, I certainly have my share of human flaws, as you quite accurately pointed out, and I like to think I have a pretty big tolerance for the human flaws of others. I mean, on the whole, the vast majority of the people in the world are good people, it's just more apparent with some than others. So when we see these human flaws in each other, it serves us well to withhold judgement, to assume it's a good person just making a mistake. I really appreciate it when people show that courtesy to me, and try my damndest to do it for others.

You see some people who can't do this. I know people who hold lifetime grudges over really minor stuff. "So-and-so said this to me back in 1974, he's an asshole!". That's sad, because holding a grudge mainly hurts the person holding it. You've gotta recognize that people are human and realize that most of'em are good and just discount what happened as a human flaw.

That said, there have been people in my life who I've concluded that I simply cannot hold a friendship with. There's no anger or bitterness involved, I've just reached the conclusion that the effort it takes to overlook that person's human flaws is greater than the benefits of enjoying that person's good side. I know some people have concluded that about me, too, which disappoints me. But I don't think it's realistic to believe everyone can get along with everyone. Some of us should just stay away from each other.

I won't go into where I think we all are at. I will say that although you have ticked me off once or twice (as I'm sure I've done to you), you are one of my favorite people in the whole world, and I'll also say that despite the various things that have transpired, Pammy is someone I admire and respect and nothing she has said has changed that. <IMG SRC=">

Take care, mate!

I'm trying to stay as clear of this as possible, but am going to add a tad....

This tolerance for each others quirks and flaws is where our combined strength lies.

The folks I have met in the world of Buell, if I could point at one common trait, nearly all exhibit an elevated passion for life, living and people in general.

I also would go so far as to say that there are represented, among our number, an inordinate amount of cognitive firepower. Again, a trait of the passionate and driven.

I became, years ago, quite in touch with the fact that there are some things I do fabulously; some quite poorly. I came to accept the downside of my character flaws as the price of admission to play with the people I like.

Buells, and I am at a loss to explain this, attract people with unusual passion and drive. I noticed this in 1988, it's never changed but it has been augmented in that I now know how easily it crosses global boundries.

I, like Aaron, have learned to always assume that folks are good and to try to learn to be a bit more forgiving. Aaron and I, Lord knows, have disagreed about things as have Mr. Buell and I. I continue to respect the talents and passions of folks I disagree with.

I'm not sure anything that has transpired here has terribly offended or changed any of my views. I still look forward to seeing and playing with friends from around the world.

I do this for fun and let much less bother me than used to.

That's your prerogative Pete. Would you call it sad if I were a rock star or a movie star or better still was an LSR holder? You'd probably be asking for my autograph if I were. Is it wrong to be a flamboyant character? Is it fuck. I'm me the guy that puts 'Rocket in England' on his leathers because that's who I am - I'm a showman - and why the fuck shouldn't I be? It's also part of the reason I contribute here and it's definitely why I own a fucking Buell.

You know it's a shame you have a problem with that - I don't - but I have very broad shoulders for those that do.

As for the drugs - you mean grass - and I told you ages ago I quit.

Nope, none of what you said. Just that BadWeB does not wish to support non-paying sponsors. Pretty simple really. Why didn't you post my first email. My estimation of your integrity has dropped significantly. Hope you will recover some.

Thanks,

To everyone for accepting my posts with such enthusiasim over the Thanksgiving holidays. You guys who responded with good information and source links I appreciate it and am following up on some of them. If any of my posts have helped anyone with any of there issues I am glad. However, I personally will return to my former state of membership at this site (invisible), since it takes too much time sorting through the bullshit and antagonism to reply to someone that has something of value to add.

I have been reading this broad for a long time. i can't belive what I just read. What a pissing contest. If a man would like to port his own heads, instead of paying (IMO) high prices,I say go for it . Everybody had to start somwhere. The bike shop I work at part time , the owner use to work for Jeery Branch. He has tought me so much on the intake theory. He no longer ports heads because of the R and D time that is needed. But he told me you just a clean up and blending of seats dose help out. I would read all I can ask as many people as you can and them form your own opinion and go for it. Hutch.

Hutch, this thread has gotten me to do some looking and I've found some good info too. One thing that seems to keep coming up is the benefit of a good multi-angle valve job, leaving the intake a little on the rough side, and bigger is rarely better for street performance.

I'm really looking forward to some documented comparisons of just the performance improvements from the headwork alone. From what I've gathered it should gain from an improved compression ratio (even with stock pistons), increased cylinder fill due to flow, velocity and the valve job. What that equates to in HP on a stock motor should be very educational.

Brion,
You only posted the contents of my second email, not the first.

I agree, spending $1,100 for headwork only to be used in a stock machine is silly. If that is your aim, you would be better served with a basic stage-I head work package. I think that is the point you are missing. You are taking the tip of the line super duper head work package designed specifically to support BIG HP and thinking of putting it into an engine that cannot begin to reap teh benefits of that investment. I don't recall anyone ever putting a stage-III set of heads into a stock machine.

If I had your opportunity and means, I would certainly have a go at some basic headwork.

I'll tell you one thing, none of the folks at Nallin Racing or Cycle-Rama are rolling in money. In my opinion, they provide top notch service for a fair price as I'm sure do some of their competitors.
