Hmmm, not too bad. How does it sound? How does it affect performance? Balance? Handling characteristics? Weight savings?

I'd like to see it up close, see the dyno charts, the price tag for sure.

I do think those rear vertical pipes need to be cleaned up and tucked away more, but overall, it is interesting. Rear sets are out of the question with this particular design.

I don't know what the swing arm/wheel travel is, but Ducati and I think Honda are using a 'cannister' apparatus under the rear seat pan.

Actually, the more I look at it, the better it gets.

I think it makes the bike look too heavy, to much like all the other full plastic riders.

Takes away from the small, compact design of the XB!

I just found the pic.
I have found no information on the pipes.
The only thing I know is that it's one of the early XB9Rs. For all I know it's all homemade.
My guess is that there is no weight savings.
And moving weight from under the front to over the back, can't be good, IMHO.

I can 'envision' some ways to improve it...and compensate for changes in handling/balance characteristics.

IMHO, it adds a striking visual cue to the R's angularity and compliments it's aggressive stance.

If my memory serves me right,
Is the exhaust a brain child off the Doma company ( belgium )
And it made 5/6 hp more than stock,
The bike was/is ? fore sale , never heard off it sins

The pipes are Belgian and the bike to,i've seen and heard it on a HD-meeting last summer here in Belgium. Sound is good not loud,performance i can't tell but the bike was standard then. I do have the adress: {www.damexhaust.com,}

Sorry to say, I do not like it. the Race cans stick way to far out and clutter the rear end. Also all that added plumbing of exhaust pipe looks messy. the chrome pipe mated with the stock header looks bad also.
you would need to do away with the stock header and redesign the whole path from front to rear.

Ti exhaust with cannister, around 7lbs...high heat/high strength resin tail piece---probably less than the stock plastic moldings...

Stock exhaust and muffler?

I don't think the weight shift will affect handling dramatically negative. I don't think you'll lose any performance, you may gain some.

Weight shift definitely a negative; "me too" copy of an inferior design even more negative. The tail exhaust looks stupid...wouldn't put it on if they paid me, let alone pay for it!!!

help me out, it's a "me too" copy of an inferior design...the one pictured or you are referring to another design? Which one? Euro? Asian?

Why is it an inferior design? What about it is inferior?

...looks stupid...the dual set up pictured or...?

Why do you like the exhaust on the XB's now? The way the muffler/cannister looks? Where it hangs? The overall "look" it gives to the bike? Traditional Buell exhaust placement?

Is a 10-12lb weight savings worth anything?

just curious...not trying to 'flame' anyone's opinion, just asking some questions...

That exhaust in the picture is actually manufactured by a French company called Ninja.
I have tried to e-mail and telephone them on repeated occasions with no reply unfortunately. It should not be too difficult to make a system like that though if someone were keen enough. There is a single 'link' pipe that runs the length of the engine before splitting into two up to the cans.
What it would do for power with a primary of that length is anyones guess though, and I think vibration could murder it.

It moves center of gravity up, that cant be good.

It looks to me like the guy forgot about an exhaust and then decided to route it up my ass.

I read somewhere that the fewer turns an exhaust makes the better flow it has. That's one reason I like the original Buell placement. If that's not the case then I like it 'cause it's different, and it works.

Wonder how our bikes would run and sound with a superbike pipe, like the Yoshimura or a micron..
might also look pretty cool with a nice carbon pipe, coming up on one side..

I think you can forget about the pillion hangers with that thing, and look where the pipe comes down!!!
Its right by your foot, if you shifting about on the bike your heel is gonna be pushing into that pipe all the time.

Not for me.........what what so beautiful about the 9R......that under the body zorst!!!
