Last night the vibration caused one of the two black front air box cover shoulder bolts to fly out on my xb12s. I was already on the way to the dealer to pick up some gaskets so I wasn't disgruntled, but the parts book listed the front two black bolts being the same as the rear two silver bolts which do not work on the front due to shoulder length. The bolt is a special style that is not carried by the suppliers.

So does anybody have the actual part number for this bolt and it's foam washer so I can have it ordered at the dealership?

The front 2 are different because you got the translucent plastics. The part you want is
AA0406.11CVB SCREW, 1/4-20X3/4 TRUSS TORX, BLK OLIVE Retail Price:$0.50

Why aren't the rear bolts the same as the front? The front bolts are used so that the bolt cannot stress the plastic, the rear do stress the plastic and that is why I have small cracks around the one fastener. I think I'm just going to use the shoulder bolts all around.

Froggy you are right, the rear two are the standard bolts from the factory. I just think they all should have been shoulder bolts from the factory because of the translucent plastic's brittleness.

On the translucent covers the front bolts are the same as the the little RH scoop and the one for the clip that holds the front brake line to the fork, so they should be easy to get.

There may not be much space around there for a bigger hole in a plastic that is possibly not as tough as the solid colour.

The part numbers are in the '08 parts listing, which show alternatives for solid colour and translucent plastic.
