Please assist me in identifying the best (value/performance) parts available for my recently vandalized '03 Xb9s. I have been rewarded $2000 from insurance and need to order parts. Current mods include Race EMC, exhaust, and K&M Air Filter. After the damage I will need the following parts:

Handle Bars & Grips
Seat
Mirrors (want clip ons)
Tires
Levers (clutch & break)

Some optional stuff if there is money left over:

LED Lights
Additional Engineer Mods

Any input is appreciated!

Looks like you'll have a lot of money left over! Get yourself some good gear, and spend the rest on track days and gas!

BTW, who is your insurance co.?

Vandalized? How? Someone kicked it over? Spraypaint? Depending on what was damaged you might could put the money elsewhere into the bike : )

Keep it for your 'oh shite' fund, or for future tires and trackdays.... screw the race ECU, it's not worth it

I have an 08 xb12s and bought a select seat and lowboy protaper bars. I'd suggest both of those to you but if you'd like to save some cash I could sell you my stock parts. There's no damage at all and they're both practically brand new. Good luck man.

The best bang for the buck was when I reduced the weight in my primary.

I replaced the clutch hub, basket and sprocket with CNC'd T6 parts from Evolution.

Do you want a faster bike?
Go to a track school.

Do you want to be a safer rider?
Go to a track school.

Do you want to go faster in the corners?
Go to a track school.

Do you want to become "King of the Late Brakers?"
Go to a track school.

Get the hint? No other mod will make you more satisfied...

For first timers I recommend Keith Code's schools.

So Point doc, what kind of gains did you notice? I didn't see anything for Buells, so is it just Sporty stuff common to the XB's.

Sorry to jack but this is interesting.

I agree with Sloppy, I went to the Keith Code Course and even after the first day I could see a HUGE difference in my riding. after graduating, my wife commented on how much easier it was to ride with me. Keith and his Crew really know their stuff. and Have fun on the Brake Rake. haha.

I'll agree with sloppy if he changes "do you want a faster bike" to "do you want to ride faster"

Picky I know, but it's who I am.
