i have friend down here that ive rubbed off on, wants a Buell. She didnt even know what they are until she met me. now she has a pegasus tattoo and needs a bike to go with it. heres the problem. shes about 5' 2" and can barely put her tip toes down with the bike on the kickstand. she rides a big v star now. is there a reasonable way to lower the bike more so she can fit? i know we could cut more padding out of the seat but i dont want her riding on a seat pan.

There aren't any lowering kits for the Buells. Take her to a dealer and sit on a Scg. There are some aftermarket seats available to lower seat height. Check Americansportbike.com

The CG is about as low as you can get. If you want lower you need to do after market shocks and forks.

Height shouldn't ever be an issue, I barley touched the ground with 1 foot when I had my Ulysses, and that never stopped me.

rider, I had the same problem. I'm between 5'2 and 5'3, and I just HAD to have a Firebolt. I go thr lowering "kit", i.e. the shock and forks of the Lightning Low (XB12SL). Now instead of my tippy toes, I'm on the balls of my feet. Trust me, thats all you need. If you can not fall over at a stoplight its sufficient. There are options to re-gel the seat to make even lower, but not much else. Have her sit on one like Sharky said. I really wanted to flat foot, but I'll take the balls of my feet over driving a Jap bike with a lowering kit anytime.

I have an SCG and I'm 5'3" with a 28" inseam. I actually had my seat reupholstered to add more but softer padding cause the original seat was just toooooo hard. I am on the balls of my feet but I've just gotten used to it.

I would really like to try the 1125 but I'm not even close to touching the ground with that one.

As far as backing up my bike, I either ask by hubby or I do just push it back, off the bike.

Blastrider - I'm a short guy 5'3 and I better not get any flak about it either! LOL. I just bought my first bike. An 09 Scg. I've bought some Alpinestar SMX1 riding boots and sit very comfortably. You can always have someone shave the foam knocking out another inch or so!
