I just installed passenger pegs on the XB-S, and can't figure out how the battery is supposed to bolt down. The bolts I have are from an XB-R, are they shorter than the ones for the XB-S? This is with the pegs bolted completely on, obviously not high enough to bolt down the battery.  (unrelated) Also I hit my very first mud puddle on the XB! LOL! This strip went up my back, and the best part is it goes up the back of my helmet as well! I've got to keep in mind that mud will cover my tail light for next time!  | ||

i guess im trying to figure out what the passenger pegs have to to with the battery? mine have a strap that holds the battery in. they are firebolts though. so i went and looked at a TT we have ere and it has a strap also. now the battery box is bolted to the sides, but it still doesnt attach to the passenger peg bolts. what am i missing? and do you need a new tire on the back already or whats that stripe down the middle of the tire? | ||

i guess im trying to figure out what the passenger pegs have to to with the battery? In my picture, you see the top end of a bolt that screwed in from the bottom, and a hole that needs a bolt to hold down that pc of gold/silver colored metal. Well that bolt thats screwed in from the bottom, is the passenger peg bracket mounting bolt. And that pc of gold/silver metal that is missing a bolt is the battery tray. The battery IS strapped down... to that tray. and that tray is NOT bolted to anything, because the passenger peg bolts aren't long enough to stick through the bolt holes. | ||

go to home depot and find a longer bolt and a nut to hold it down... you'll find it, they have everything for a cheap fix my shifter linkage always falling off, so I locked it both ways: with longer bolts and a special nut to hold it behind. i see now. if i would have remembered the first time that we just got in an 04 lightning with 87 miles on it i would have looked at that instead of the TT lol. they are different so thats why i didnt see what you were talking about. yes the bolts are just alot longer for the s. like ochoa said just get a longer bolt and a nut. | ||

Yes, there WAS a nut there. There's originally one longer bolt (In the reaward hole, IIRC) with a nut, and the forward bolt is shorter. You need skinny woman to ride on the back, to keep your jacket clean! | ||
