Not a big deal but I know there was a little fuss about a firebolt that was supposed to be in transformers, so I thought I would inform all the people that like seeing Buells in the movies. Well anyways, if you haven't seen the new Al Pacino movie, 88 minutes, there are a couple Buells "representing".

I just watched this movie tonight and there is a black Xb9 and a black X1 in the same scene two minutes apart, no other bikes. I guess somebody on the crew has a passion for Buells. Made me feel proud!

Just thought I'd let everyone know.

Chris Brown the singer rode a XB12R in a movie last year. The movie also starred Delroy Lindo.

A Buell sighting in Blade trinity as well (complete with terrible I-4 overdubs mind you). Plus a Buell t shirt spotted shooting hoops.

Don't forget "Ballistic: Ecks vs Sever" where you can watch Antonio Banderas drop an X1 like a total dumabass!

That's one of the bikes built by RetroSBK (Freddie Spencer Tribute Bike on their website), not Arcee.

Yes, that isn't Arcee, but RetroSBK is building her, and from reports on the Transformers sites, the bike looks similar.

And here I was thinking the reason the 1125CR looks the way it does was because Buell was thinking that maybe THAT model would be a good base for Arcee (instead of a Firebolt).

1125CR in pink, anyone?

I respectfully disagree.

If I were a betting man, my guess it has more to do with 'paid product placement' than a crew member's passion. This has been pretty common practice in movies since "Back to the Future".

Typically, product placement cost works on a tiered scale. Buell pays $ amount of dollars to have the product in the movie, Buell pays $$ to be shown in a minor capacity in the flick, Buell pays $$$ to have a major character use a Buell in the flick.

A lot of TV shows have picked up on this too. With the widespread use of Tivo to skip commercials, it's an effective way to showcase your brand. If you've ever seen an episode of "Heros" you'll notice the exclusive use of Nissan vehicles, "NCIS" uses Dodge, "Alias" was all Ford vehicles.

I don't knock the practice on Buell's behalf, I think it's a cost effective way to reach their target 18-49 age demographic.

It goes beyond that now, last time I watched Heroes the whiny blond was like "OMG I'm getting the Nissan Rouge!". On some episodes of Smallville the whiny blond on there says "Here, take my Yaris". It disgusts me. It is one thing for a character that is a mechanic/racer/etc to say it, but for the bimbos that don't know the difference between red and blue, it is just out of place.

Funny one Saturday morning I was flipping through channels and noticed a Firebolt. Went back and realized that the show was Power Rangers.

What's funny is to go back and look at old James Bond movies. I think it was Live and Let Die where ALL the cars were GM. Every taxi, every car. It was hilarious.

You saw the same in the 2nd Matrix movie. Every car on the interstate was GM (Buick, Oldsmobile, Chevrolet, Cadillac).

Yes I remembered that from the Matrix. Also the biggest and most obvious attempt at it is Transformers. Actually it was quite entertaining to see a Camaro and a Mustang race, then transform and beat the crap out of each other : )

I heard that anytime you see a brand name in a movie or t.v. show they pay for it. That's why sometimes the names are hidden, 'cuz they didn't pay.
