Got word that Turbo Connection in South Dakota is considering developing a turbo kit for the XB series...might be pretty neat eh?

Interesting.... But I would rather have a supercharger.

but with a turbo you can run more boost! I'm sure any supercharger can make more boost than this engine can handle.

I love the supercharger vs. turbo debates. I have a whipple supercharger on my car and love it, but don't try to tell the turbo lagheads that a supercharger is better.

They both have their uses, but I feel a supercharger would work better with the XB. More low down grunt. The turbo would be better suited for the 1125.

Yeah, considering the low redline these engines have, I can't see a turbo being worth the effort. I've read about a lot more engines grenading on turbos than superchargers also. And then there's the extra heat issue on an air cooled bike that's already prone to detonation......

Not to mention the pickle fork rod setup and rolling element crank bearings.

Can't say for sure, but an Aerocharger with the variable turbine vane geometry might be used in this set-up. Normally, these are set to put out 5-8 psi with a self contained lubrication system with VERY quick turbo response. Had one on a ZX-11 one time and it had unreal spool up. Like instant. You could see positive manifold pressure just by "blipping" the throttle.
