Lastly, you should also check insurance prices, that will dictate which bike you buy.

I checked and the insurance will be $636 a year or about $53 a month

You already put 450 miles on it. That is more than enough miles to know what it has for power. Buy it.

I SAY BUY IT! I've just bought my xb12Scg. It's my first bike and bought it new. Had it for two weeks and placed 450 miles on it! It handles great and I don't feel the power is to much. I take it easy but have tons of fun!

Buy it. You won't get bored with it later on.

If you learned some lessons about wrecking in the dirt and how bikes handle in different situations I say go for it. Just keep the torque in mind. I am partial to the STT coming from dirtbikes and recommend you look into one. The rider position and suspension will be more familar than the R and probably be a more natural adaptation for you. 500 miles is good to get a feel for the bike but not much when you consider all the conditions and situations you didn't encounter within those miles... If you are interested in a STT, check the classifieds, there is a good deal there for an 07 with some nice mods & less than 1500 miles. Last price was $7K.

Sure, the bike is a really great bike, it has sharp rare looks, I always get compliments on it.
All that accessible torque allows smooth operation, be nice to it or it will bite!!!

I go to the drag strip with my group and its actually slower than any 600 4banger, which is good because a lot of kids (including myself) buys a 600 and wrecks it within the first 3months. My crash was completely not my fault, but the idea still stands
I own them on the twisties!!! except jeremy, and he's fast!!!

If you want to be another one of those 600cc-BS-dude with the same-sh^tty-looks-as-everyone-else's-bike, go ahead:
BUT if you get a buell, heads will turn
