So, I have gotten over my fear of riding in the rain. Threw on my Cortech HRX 2 peice suit today with the waterproof liners in, and headed to work. After getting to work, I made a few discoveries. First- my backpack is waterproof, except for the bottom of it. My extra pair of socks were kinda damp  Second- Vented race boots do not keep water out, especially when the legs of your pants are tucked into them. Problem with my pants though is the ankle opening isnt large enough to even go around boots  Third- The pants and jacket waterproof liners work GREAT. Where the 2 zip together is not waterproof though. Had some slightly damp undies Fourth- When getting off the bike, make sure there is no pooled water around the wrist area, for it can flow back down into your gloves as you drop hour hands to your sides. I got to looking at some rain gear on newenough. Ive decided that some waterproof overboots would solve the water getting into my boots issue. Some waterproof overpants with a removable thermal liner would be great to, so I dont have to rush to the restroom and switch clothing, and can use them in the rain year round. One thing I cant decide on though, do they make waterproof overjackets? My current jacket works great for year round. I just want something a little longer to cover the area I would zip the pants to the jacket, and fit over my current jacket. Any suggestions? I would like to keep it kinda cheap, and not too goofy looking too. On a side note, riding in the rain on a Buell is plain fun. On my fz6, I was always scared shitless. It always felt like I had no traction while turning, and I was always afraid of hitting that surge of power in the mid revs and spinning up the rear mid turn. The buells throttle is soooo much easier to control in the wet, and the bike stills gives me feedback when turning. I think im going to start riding even in the rain. | ||

You can get Buell branded rain gear from your harley dealer. Its a jacket and pants that go over whatever your wearing. I want to say it was $120, and it folds into itself for storage. Becomes about the size of a football all packed. Personally, I went with all waterproof gear to start with this gear. Aerostich Roadcrafter 1 piece, Sidi Goretex boots, Alpinestar Vega gloves. No need to pull over and switch gear | ||

Didnt even think to look there. http://www.buell.com/en_us/gear/apparel/product.as p?Menu_ID=1&CategoryID=4&ProductID=4108 Price seems pretty decent, and exactly what I am looking for. I would go for a full raingear setup, but dont have the money for it all. Figured I could use my current gear I use for cold weather riding, and just throw some extra waterproof stuff over it to get me to work all nice warm and dry. Will probaly get a full rainsuit when I get an XT a few years down the road, and start traveling on the bike. | ||

Tuck your gloves into your sleeves and cinch the sleeves tight, and you wont get water inside your waterproof gloves.  | ||

Got my Buell raingear for $45. With tax new! They had some freak deal on them. They aren't completely H2O proof but do keep me pretty dry. Like I'm gonna complain after the price. They pack up nice and small too. | ||

Frogg Toggs, about 35.00. Not to pricey, work pretty good,roll up small,not hot when wearing, last 1 season.I ride rain or shine.So far even in cold but this is Tx. |
