We are in our 50's and we have 3 bikes insured through Progressive. Now, we just have comprehensive and other driver because none of our bikes have a lien on them and our total cost is 242.00 per year. Thats for an 06 Uly--an 06 12Ss and a 2004 Kawasaki Councours. The comprehensive is 500.00 deductible.
We have never submitted a claim.

I am also in the TB area. I had Progressive for years on my FXDX then decided to shop around. Allstate was half of what Progressive charged me.

My son just bought a Ducati Monster 696. His rates are sky high for basically a small naked bike. Still, after calling about every insurance company we could find Allstate was still cheapest (not cheap) for him.

Insurance rates make almost no sense. I have USAA on my house and cars, but they quoted me out of the park rates on my bike. I have talked to others with similar bikes and ages as me and USAA was cheapest. It seems like they change their rates daily or something.

Thanks for the tip, I'll check State Farm. I pay the insurance for my 17 year old son's car and it costs an arm and a leg each month with All State. I have a 99 Tacoma and he drives a 90 Buick. I have not had a claim in over 7 years now and it's still $310 a month for minimal coverage.

My father made me pay my car insurance, not to mention my car payment on a nice used 1987 chevy spectrum.

You know, if your son had a newer car, the insurance would be cheaper. I'm not talking about a $30,000 car, but rather a nice 200# hundai or whatever you can get for a few grand.

I got liability only on my 2005 xb9sx. It cost me $99 per year from Geico. that's the minimum amount they can right a policy for, otherwise it might be cheaper.

Wow,

Seems like everyone is cheaper than what they quoted me. I've got some real shopping to do in the near future.

Yeah I was surprised when I went to go get insurance on my bike. I'm 23 with a few tickets (in the car) and I pay about 400 a year for my 05 Mustang V6. They quoted me 363/year full coverage with 500/250 deductibles for my XB9R. Fine with me.

That's 12 dollars higher than what my dad pays for his 05 Victory cruiser. He is 50 years old and no tickets for almost 20 years. He was shocked.

Country Companies. There is also a 20 dollar charge each year to be a member of the farm bureau.

Never shopped around for my bike, but when I shopped for my car everywhere was 900+ with Progressive being about 1100 iirc.
