Thought yall might wont to here this story about service adviser at my local HD Buell shop.Took my xb12s in for warranty work regarding code 21 exhaust servo.Part was on back order. (She,the service advisor)said 3-4 days for part to come in.I told her they would not see my bike again (from previous problems with them) that I was capable of all maintenance myself. She said "you might wont to buy a service manual bike will need a valve shim adjustment around 5000 mi.about 500.00 for this service". I told her maybe she should buy one and read it. Bike has hydraulic lifters no adjustment required, thats one reason I bought a Buell. At that moment the look on her face PRICELESS !! Got my bike out of there never to return. Is this nuts or what! No trust in this shop.

Dc29,

This is not a Harley/ Buell specific problem. It seems many occupation fields are filled with people who are lacking in knowledge about what they are doing.

There are a few though that will honestly admit they do not have specific knowledge of something, but will locate that knowledge and pass it along to the customer.

On a more positive note: last month I rode into Dallas from Michigan with a "Check Engine" light burning away. I was in town on business for a week and wanted this fixed before the ride back. Without knowing anything about the Dallas dealerships, I picked American Eagle of Corinth. Long story short, they found the problem but the part (exhaust valve actuator) was back ordered. They searched other dealers, found one on the left coast, had it overnighted, installed and had me on the road right on schedule. Thanks Ronnie and Rickie.
