Two issues that I need help with on my XB12Ss. 1. Throttle dose not move freely. Every bike that I have owned you can twist the throttle wide open and let it go, and it would snap closed. This one will not do that. Kind of a safety concern I think. 2. When I turn the handle bars to left, in stead of hitting the stop, I am pinching the throttle cables and a wire bundle between the fork and frame. Is there a way to reroute the throttle cables and solve both of my problems??? I tried to take off the instrument cluster to see if I could reroute the cables, and there is hex bolt that I do not have a socket that will work, looks like a factory type tool is needed. Any thoughts?

Although you are saying your pinching the throttle cable. I would first start with lubing the cable and sleeve.

Also I had an identical problem with the throttle sticking at WOT. It actually was a build up of coaking inside the throttle body and the throttle plate itself was sticking not the cable. It took carb clean, a rag and small fingers to clean it. I also made a catch can for the oil breathers, which was the cause of the problem.

Throttle cable's stiff outer sleeve may be crimped, damaged by pinch.
So, even properly rerouted throttle cable may bind and/or fail where it was pinched.
Examine cable carefully.
Disconnect both ends and 'feel' how freely and smoothly it moves.

'04 XB12R Service Manual includes good cable (and wiring) routing diagrams.

If its pinched even lube isn't going to fix it.. I know first hand...

I replaced mine and put the new plastic piece from the 07's the helps prevents pinching..

make sure you have enough "freeplay" in your throttle cableS. if there is no freeplay your throttle will "stick".
