I finally got my new tires mounted. I can't believe I waited so long. The bike feels great. The road pilot 2 are very smooth and quiet. I only have about 250 miles on them so far (mostly the ride home) but they are worth the extra money. They do not follow road imperfections like the Sync's did. I will follow up when I get a few more miles on them. |

You will love those tires. Pilots are the only tire I will run. I should have a new set on my bike before spring. Enjoy!!!! |

I'm confused at your comment that the syncs followed road imperfections. Not my experience at all... Can't even ride, though, because there's no damn gas in ATL!!! |

Yeah, no gas!! I had to drive around at 4am this morning to get gas in my car and I had to drive farther to fill my can with 93 for my bike. Just to paint you folks a picture, I stopped at a quiktrip yesterday on my bike, passed everyone in their cars waiting in line which equaled about an 1/8 mile line of cars out all 3 entrances. I pulled up to a guy on a harley that was sitting at the pump, I asked them if the pump still had 93, he said they didn't have any gas, they were all waiting on a truck that was not coming for another 3 hours!!! This F'N Sucks!! |

Another good reason not to live in Atlanta, as if I need another one. i stopped and got gas in the bike yesterday. $3.89 for 93 octane and no lines here in Florida. |

The same kinda stuff is happening in spots in East Tennessee. For two weeks many of the local stations have been out of gas on and off. We've been lucky to get regular gas in my area. Premium and mid grade have been non-exsistant lately. |

tell me about it! here in w.n.c. i have been premium-less for three weeks! regular grade shows up randomly, creating huge lines and panic, while selling out at $4 per gallon, but premium has been non-existant. a buddy of mine has a turbo passat that he uses premium in, and he called me this morning saying that a shell station in weaverville, nc had got some in, so i drove out there and got 5 gallons in a can. i ran one tank of regular through the xb9 last weekend, but i really didn't want to. maybe this 5 gallons will last me a week or two! this is really getting old!!!!! |

The reason is Ike. Ike came through and took out the power to half the oil refineries that supply most of us in the southeast with gas. There really hasn't been any signs of when this is going to end. |

They are claiming the last hurricane caused major damage to the fleet of rigs in the Gulf of Mexico and that they haven't caught up from Galviston being shut down for the storm surge. By the way, the Pilot Road II is all I plan to run for the near future, great tire. (Message edited by etennuly on September 28, 2008) |

I mounted a set just before going to the Inside Pass event at Eagle's Canyon on 23 Sep. It was my first track day, and it sure won't be my last. I'm very happy with the tires so far. They don't want to stand up on the brakes near as badly as the stock Dunlops, and they're smoother. They do steer a bit slower, but I'm okay with that given how much better they do everywhere else. Judging from the wear so far, they should last quite a long time. |

Where did you get them? The rear the dealer located from parts unlimited I found the front at Cyclegear http://www.cyclegear.com/spgm.cfm?L1=129&L2=&L3=&L 4=&item=WES_87-9675_G&tier2=218 I'm confused at your comment that the syncs followed road imperfections. My tires were worn and squared off. When ever I encountered rain grooves, or road seem they would track right with it. At times it was unnerving. The new tires are much more stable, in fact last night I headed over a local metal grate bridge and they didn't wander. I was very pleased with that. I have not been the only one here that has mentioned strange handling on Sync's as they age. |
