Now how did I do that? I only typed American Sport Bike in the title. I didn't type the website.

I was just asking if anyone had purchased the cable they sell for ecmspy and knew how long it is?

If you make it yourself it can be as long as you want it. I took a 20ft usb cable from work and will cut one end off. I ordered the connector I need for the ECM online and will make it myself.

Don't spend the money.

That cable will most probably be totally useless.

Gunter

Moose - there are some shortcuts on BadWeB and American Sport Bike happens to be one of them. When you type it, it sets up a link to their website. What I did was edit your title and added two spaces between the names.

LOL, that's for the people using desktops instead of laptops, I guess. You can work on the bike from the comfort of your computer room!

actually, unless you use more than just a deutsch connector, it WONT work with the 26'cable. if you look at the requirements on the ECMspy posts, theres a convertor chip (TTB 5 volt convertor, I think) in the ECM spy cables to convert to the correct voltage.

thsu the requirement for the TTB driver file as well as the basic cable.

I deal with cable and cable lengths all day everyday. I was being a little drastic on the length but none the less it would work fine. I've run numerous types of cables, numerous signals through those cables for Colleges and Stadiums all over the US at distances much much greater.Yes there are lengths restrictions for certain signals before using amps and what not but I doubt it would be an issue even if I left it at 20 feet.

Tell me this. I found the convertor you can wire in for roughly $10. Also found a premade wire with convertor installed into the USB side with no connector on the other end for $20. And the ECM connector including pins for $6.50. How can someone justify selling the complete cable for around $60. Crazy!
