Check your tire pressure, steering head bearings, front tire wear, build up on the rotor, pad wear, what am I forgetting

Years ago I had a Chevy truck that pulsed badly while braking. It was the rotors. The two sides were no longer parallel and the pulsing was the pads riding through the wide and narrows areas.

Agreed. If you've got black smudges on your rotor, I'd put my money on pad residue. Much more common problem than warped rotors, bearings, etc. Mine shook like they were coming all to pieces when I applied the front brake. A new set of Lyndall pads stopped the shuddering instantly.

Sounds like build up to me. It happens to me every so often with the crap stock pads. Some hard front braking will fix that!
