Hey Smitty, you didn't happen to learn how use that thing in Lithicum or Laurel MD did you? Just wondering after looking over your profile. Later.

There is one disturbing problem with the handling characteristics of my XB9R. Since the damn thing turns and leans so well at high speeds - the tires don't last long .
Check out some pixs at my favorite riding place:

Glitch, I'm loading up the back pack less my dip to test your theory. I have added a velcro sleeve to the iPaq to avoid some slippage -- it's the heaviest thing in there. Just as soon as I get everybody out the door this AM I'm outta here for the day. The wife, damn I love that woman, has wished me luck on finding a job today ;) You never know I might run in to a kindred spirit up there today that needs me?

Court, Thanks for the advice -- it's much appreciated. I hope to get out to California next week to see if this deal will work out.

Brian, You work so much I don't even bother calling you dude. I will next time just in case. It was a very windy day up on the top today so went up to GFM and came back down and rode out, and around, Lake Lure.

Once your Dunlops wear out, Michilin Pilot Roads work great on the XB series. My Firebolt no longer requires pressure on the bar to maintain a line and actually wants to lean over further just like a tube framed Buell.
Stability is also improved as there's no front end flutter during the hands-off deceleration test (80 MPH down to 40) with the Storz steering damper removed.
I'm sure that other tires work equally well but the Michilins worked for me and are supposed to have a long wear life.
