All Buell patents are available online. Check the dates. You'll be amazed how old some of his stuff is. He even patented the process for making the Blast front and rear brake rotors from the same piece of metal. There's bicycle patents and all that stuff.

USPO site is hard to search, but it's all there.

Then look up the John Britten patents ; )

Anymore patents are only worth about as much as the paper their printed on.
Nobody honors anything these days.....think China.

On average of 7 million plus patent, you maybe right. But many are worth more than the number of patents. Depends on what you are "claiming." But what does China have to do with US patents?

They sure have developed a special style to describe said things.

Then look up the John Britten patents

And read carefully.

Note that things like the "fuel in frame" patents are over 20 years old . . . . about the time Erik patented the single sided swingarm.

You will also find quite a few decidedly "non-motor" ideas . . .

And . . . . some of the ones you haven't seen yet are simply patented under other names to keep prying eyes away.

It's all good . . . .

The description in patents is a true science. . . . Erik's Father was a patent attorney.

I found one a while back that Erik did, it was storage compartments in the side of the fairings on full faired bikes. Neat stuff.
