It'll make a good emergency spare.

If it's in the center then keep riding it. I've had 2 holes through mine (damn Minnesota DOT and their sand!) for thousands of miles- and that's even on the original 2003 belt. When it goes, I'll upgrade the whole system...

i'd order the 04+ conversion kit and just have i on standby, then start waiting, if you aren't all ready

I saw a video of how they tested the belt. They threw a handful of pyramid looking things in and it punched a bunch of holes in the belt and it didn't fail.

Now with that said. I would replace it and keep it as an emergency spare.

I always wonder why people keep the bad one as an emergency spare?

Are you going to carry it on the bike? Not likely.

Are you going to install it later and, while you don't trust it now, you'll trust it in the future?

Then, are you going to order another good one and a few days later change to the new one? That's a lot of riding time used up duplicating a job.

I would suggest ordering a good one and having it on standby if you are concerned.

I concur.

Also to note, the other two enemies of the belts are reverse loading (hoolagnism...)
and side loading (from loose / worn / crooked tensioner pulley).

One day I noticed a lump in my belt. I rolled the bike untill I could get a good look at it, and found a "chip-n-seal" stone stuck in the belt. I carefully dug it out, and was a bit concerned with the size of the crater left behind. I decided to ride it, and keep an eye on the belt to see if anything developed. That was about 12,000 miles ago, and I have not had any issues with it.

Just wondering what you would consider hoolagnism?
