Ok guys...So much talk on these Vrods.. Now I have driven them etc etc...

Like to get your guys thoughts on them...

Lets talk about "WOT" roll on throttle pulls at certain speeds, lets say 60 mph side by side.. 80 mph side by side etc etc... and then top end Speed???

MAybe I just got a FAST 04 xb 12 R, But I don`t find them any faster the Vords that is than My Baby... and Top end speeds what ya all say there??? Do Vrods pull faster than 135/140 mph top end???

I have been there and maybe the guys on the rods let off or whatever, but seems all they got is around 125/130 mph am I wrong here ,If so by how much??

Keep in mind this is on 4 lane open Highway, can see for a mile plus, and No Traffic....

Well the V-Rods weigh more, are geared differently, but also make more power.
So I could see it being close.

I have one of each, not sure which has the highest top speed cause that's what you're talking about in reality....it's who's got more guts and/or is stupid enough to go that fast.....and we wonder why everyone continues to hate motorcyclists.

Bring it to the drag strip. Fastest piece of paper wins. I will say with my smaller front sprocket eliminating my off the line issue, the VRod under most people will win by a hair just because you don't have to worry about keeping the front end down. They are too different to compare IMHO.

Throw some tight turns in there, and I will confidently say the XB will win every time.

Very true.
We had one for MB-3 and I got to play with it up in the twisties. After a few hours I got tied of dragging hard parts, it was a new bike after all.
Lots and lots of power though.
Didn't get near enough seat time on the Street Rod. With the mid set pegs, and the added clearance it was a lot more fun up there. But alas it wasn't one of ours, so thrashing it for an hour or two was out of the question.
I did ride it enough to know it was the better bike of the two.
Too bad they stopped making them almost as fast as they started.

I remember in a previous thread, the XB12 and Vrod are neck to neck in a quarter mile drag, with it coming down to rider skill.

The road course is a whole nother story : )

I would love a Revo powered sport or adventure tourer. Do it right and it could be a BMW killer.

Even the VR guys will admit that if you toss in some turns, they're finished. But If you've been noticing, the rear tire has gotten bigger (240) as has the motor and the Street rod was dropped from the line up....so it looks like HD doesn't give a rats ass about an all-around sport cruiser, all they care about is in-line performance and looks.

I'm buying a V-Rod soon.I like the motor and the styling.

I have a Vrod and had an XB (not the R).
For top end the V-Rod hit an indicated 145 with my 235 lb on it before I chickened out.

My XB12Ss has only seen 130 mph indicated. I am sure the XB12R would be closer.

I also felt that the V-Rod had more pull once over a 100 then my XB.

I personally love my V-rod its fun and comfortable IMO on longer trips that require more slab riding.

There is a company here in Oz that makes a supercharger kit for the Vrod called Sprintex.

Has had really good write ups so far for those who are THAT way inclined!

Well... I never asked about the twisters..LoL ain`t a V-Rod out there that can compare there....

So I had thought top speed of the V-Rods was like 135 to 140.. So is that Not the same as the XB12R `s ?? also yeah as far as the roll ons at them speeds , I remember the Xb was a tad quicker.. So I really don`t see where if any wheres the V-Rod are faster.. Except maybe for the 1/4 mile since hard to keep the wheel down on the R`s...??? anyone know Different??

The VR is a strip bike, the XB a track bike. There's no comparisons.

You got it Buellinachinashop ! I don't know why, but even though the Buell finds itself used more often for commuting and pretty much anything other day to day duty...I'll never be able to part with my 'TinCan'. Something about that Porsche motor. What's funny is it's only about 10 more HP but something about it between 5000-9000 rpm just can't be equalled....can't explain it. And if you go down 2 teeth on the front sprocket it REALLY screams.

All this talk about power has got me wondering. Does anyone know how much difference the factory race kit on an '04 XB12R makes for the torque and horsepower?
