Put this in the knowledge vault also, just thought in may get a quicker answer here. Thanks. Well I have an '04 XB12S, in recent times a spark plug blew out of the front cylinder. Took it in, they pulled and fixed head, put it back together and it hasn't been quite the same ever since(note; also had them do a 10k service while it was in the shop). Here is the main problem, after it is warmed up fully, it will not hit the rev limiter. Easiest way I can show the problem is in first gear full throttle it gets to right about 6k and then just drops off, dies off completely until you let off the throttle and then get back on it. It seems to be slightly lacking power, but not terribly; and it seems to run fine other than this. It is very annoying though when you try to get up and go and you almost go over the handle bars because the engine falls flat on its face. It's back in the shop now, had them do a tps reset, but they said that it is still having the same problem. NEED HELP!!! Are they not setting the TPS properly, did they kink a hose or something, create an intake leak when they took the head off, something else to look at??????? This happens at about 800-1000rpm below the rev limiter....and from my experience it would always "bounce" off of the rev limiter and continue to run, right now it gets up there and shuts down as if all fuel is shut off(or maybe spark)it just drops rpms and the engine won't go again until you let way off on the throttle and then back into it. |
