yea, sad but true, no real damage done, left CRG mirror, air scoop and oil cooler scoop got a little scraped up but sanding and painting them will give me a chance to get em glossy instead of flat black - basically just took a corner that i didnt know to fast and came out of the corner to early went up to the outside got in to some gravel and lost it, did a few "007 rolls" as i was told haha, left glove ripped (dont buy cortech) and nice bash on the rear of my helmet, only rash i got was where i landed on my left hip (guess the jacket slid up just a bit) - i am sure a certain someone i was riding might post some pictures of it

Hmm I should rename myself to 06xb12ss, that way i don't feel left out :P

Had cheapo sliders on my SS when i bought it, stupid things wouldn't come off, had to cut them off for a tire change. Had a pair of Dark Horse Moto's on my Uly, so i got more to throw on the SS : )

YOU got lucky!!!!
I have no idea how I didnt run your ass over! Next time when you want to play 007 lets just sit at the house and play playstation!
But in all i'm glad it turned out okay! and glad you JUST installed those frame pucks and sliders! The bike came out with only scratches!

I think it was just a crappy road to begin with and we hit it too fast! Nest time we will just take it easy on the new roads.
lesson learned!

We will see how sore you will be at work tomorrow! haha

"Dude there is no damage there! Hose her off and ride!"

Pfffft! I rode home with no shift linkage, no clutch lever, no left turn signals... and no left sleeve before.

Glad you're ok and better yet, glad to see you had to lead the VRod through it first so he didn't have to get his tires dirty!

I love V-Rods, am buying one myself, but I just can't see leaving Buell to get into one. Guys with sportbikes who buy VR's hoping for all-around-performance always end up with a sportbike again.

I am very lucky and have learned my lesson about riding new roads for sure - its not all bad though - gave me a reason to get new handlebars (mine tweaked just a bit), gloves (they were ripping), and maybe a new helmet

Helmet SHOULD be replaced, now, with how you described it as bashed. Yeah, I'd say you got lucky, at least your body. But your hip might well start talking to you pretty soon. Get the pain pills ready.

I also learned the hard way (in 2001) that there isn't someone cleaning the road ahead of my arriving at a blind corner.
