I will be attending this event this month at Decatur, Tx @ Eagles Canyon Raceway on the 23rd ... well sweet right, or will it be a waiting game till you can demo? Has anyone participated to one? How did it go? Was the demo time worth the price? How long was the demo, how many can you have? What did ya think? And a million other questions ... My main concern is how much tracktime will there be? And at first, I wasn't thinking of bringing my bike because I will have theirs right, but now im thinking of trailering mine so I can race all day and also demo... Trailer it ? I was reading an article and it says there will be 100 people!!! "Limited participants for maximum track time" my arse!!! | ||

When I did the track day at the 25th, I only rode my bike on the track once and demoed bikes all day long. You should get 6-8 20 minute sessions throughout the day. This is more than enough and you will be tired!! | ||

they didn't run demo's on the 1st and last session Mid Ohio. the reason behind that is that the most crashes happen during those two sessions. but that being said there was still plenty off time to demo as much as you wanted. and for the most part the demos where balls out as fast as you want to go. Mikef5000 only rode his bike the first and last session. he thoroughly flogged there bikes all day and had a great time. as far as trailering, i did and i am glad i did. by the end of the day i was whooped. so sitting in my air conditioned cage on the way home was quit nice. | ||

Dont ride to a track day, IF you crash your stranded, if you dont crash you will be so tired at the end of the day you will wish you had a trailer. I try to bring a driver with me too. You WILL have fun, You WILL be tired, and you WILL be hooked like a dope fiend. | ||

Well my bike has a worn-out front tire, pirelli corsa III; it still has tread, but definitely not 75% of original... Quote - ""#2. Tires and brakes must be in good condition. Tires should be at least 75% of new condition. Any tires that are bluing from excessive wear will be disallowed. Slicks are allowed in 85% plus condition. We will have on site tire service at each track day, so if your tires don't pass, you will have the opportunity to put on replacement tires to pass tech."" So what should I do? Replace? Or is that some type of disclaimer that I shouldn't worry about? | ||

Not free, but the prices generally are not extortive. You definitely want good rubber, you will be pushing the bike much harder then ever before. Bad tired means broken bikes. They did NOT have tire service at Mid Ohio, but thats probably a track to track thing. If you do just the demo bikes, and it rains, you might not get to ride. At Mid Ohio, here were generally bikes available, but it varies from track to track and event to event. And if two or three more people had shown up without bikes, there would have been some novice sessions some would have sat out. 100 people is actually a small track day, you break up into three time slots, so there are at most 33 people on the track at a time. And some of them won't be doing every session. So spread 33 people out along a 3 mile track, and you have LOTS of room. |
