I am thinking about upgrading to the newer style belt on my 05 XB9SX. I am fast approaching 20k miles, so I am thinking this wouldn't hurt to do now. Anyone agree or disagree?

All I will need is the belt, correct? It uses all of my current components, right?

Lastly, can someone please provide me with the part number for the newest belt?

Thanks!

Brian- Only the 03 Buells required parts to be changed to upgrade the belt. The 03 Buells used Gates belts; all others have been by Goodyear.

Oh yea, if there's no obvious deterioration, save your old belt for a spare. It might save you on a long road trip or save you a lot of downtime at home if your new belt every breaks.
