Found some good rides lately and was thinking of filming them. Any good ideas for inexpensive cams? Any idea which works better: helmet or location on bike? I have a really good Olympus digital. go to a good camera store. They should have a 386B "nano clamp" made by Manfrotto. That along with an adapter will attach your camera right to your cross bar. Easy to operate the camera and the clamp is a fast on/off and very secure | ||

I have a gopro camera and it`s alright... it can get a little choppy at speed, but other than that the quality and accessories are great. The latest vids here were shot using the gopro: http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=wave135 Here it is on my helmet (it`s the Palomar video):  | ||

But I have seen a lot better, but only after buying this one. I would imagine if you mounted it to your helmet and put mic-foam around it, it wouldn't be half bad. But I like video's that are shot froma low angle, gives it more feeling because of the road rushing by, and the steeper lean angles that can be seen. | ||

You can probably make or buy an adapter to screw it right to your mirror mount hole. I have a flip video camera and it works pretty well. I have not tried any video on the bike, but here's a video I took from under my car. The video is upside down and I was trying to see how much the pinion moves upward under wide open throttle. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ammp24pjxE | ||

Sorry, no pics of it mounted. The camera comes with a mount and velcro strap that easily wrapped around the fork tube. -- Very easy. |
