Receiver off, transmitter on- Court, I gather from your post that you are employed in some capacity by Buell?? Or is it that you are lucky enough to live where the nearby dealers really do care? Either way, I can understand your comments...but when I read posts from guys from all over the US that have had bad experiences , over and over, from their local dealers, I have to believe the problem is more prevalent than some realize. The local HD (read boutique) here in Savannah, Ga. cannot be used as an example, because they are simply "above" dealing with Buells. Treat ya like a 2nd rate citizen if ya even mention Buell. That is a fact,I know from personal experience. Low Country HD/Buell in N. Charleston, SC, (120 miles) however treated me very good, and I wrote them a check for a new '07 XB12Scg. The parts dept. also is to be commended. I ordered race kit , he said he would find one, he did, and got it to me earlier than the date he quoted- I was impressed. I've called the Dealers in Jacksonville, fl. (120 miles) and have been lied to, ignored completely after being put on "hold", and generally just treated as though I was bothering them by even calling.. SO, I have experience with 2 HD/Buell dealers and 1 HD/non-Buell dealer......hard to defend the whole HD motor company when 2 out of the 3 I've dealt with just "don't get it" 66.6%

That is the most Buells I have ever seen in one showroom! I need a new dealership!

I respect your input Court, but I have endured enough with several H/D stealerships.

-I am tired of standing in the parts line waiting on . . . I need a chrome footpeg/ chrome kickstand spring, chrome grips, etc.

-I am exhausted with watching Harley owners who get to drool over 15 different exhaust systems (by several different manufacturers) . . . as I am told we no longer offer any options at H/D since the race kit was discontinued. I was sent to ask a mechanic who owns a City X about his 'modified' can. I was told to 'put a torch in the muffler and burn out the inside!'

-I am most frustrated by the ignorance of my local "Buell" mechanics. I went up recently with a friend who received a recall on a 1125r for a reflash/ecm mod. They couldn't figure out how to plug in the damn bike! He was told 'shouldn't really worry about it.' It is his third buell and it is a three month old, 12,000 dollar bike that runs like shit. He is now looking at a CBR.

I put less maintenance time in my Cr500 (dirtbike) then my friend puts in his 1125R! And I race hare scrambles!!!

I understand that the customer service with Buell is very respectful and nice on the phone. But I live my life face to face. I ride three and a half hours to Kansas City to deal with Gail's. I love my bike but am scared to ever get a another Buell now.

Proof is in the Pudding Court . . .

-We spend our hours getting information off of BadWeb instead of dealing with the local service. On BadWeb alone, how many of our profiles says they do their own service?

-On the front of the new Sport Rider Magazine - it makes a comment of whether or not Buell has fixed the 1125r. What a flagship . . . it doesn't even run right without help off the showroom floor.
'AND EVERYONE KNOWS!'

Bigred, for 09 the SS and STT are the same bike now. The STT suspension got put on the SS. Do what i did, get a beak, headlight grill and number plates. Vola, instant STT : )

I see you already own a STT, just get the rims and plastics, swap them and sell the old stuff. Thats what i did. You get most of your money back, or loose nothing at all if it was a direct swap.

Yea i agree about the orange, i thought it was someone playing a joke when i first saw a pic of it online.

Court, I'm with Bigredwood and Packrat, if you're lucky enough to live in an area like that then congratulations, we should all be so lucky, but so far only I have only been so lucky once, and unfortunately the shop was over 200 miles away! So its a luxury most of us can't afford on a regular basis. I'm glad that you have great experiences, awesome! Congrats, but like packrat said its really hard to defend something that so many people had a problem with, and thats why a lot of people still hate harley dealers, and why other companies such as victory are continuing to grow, but I can only speak from my experience, and as my previous posts say, my experiences thus far, from age 9-20, have sucked! But I just know where to go now so it doesn't matter, I finally found the dealer that I like and I'll just stick with them for all major purchases and mechanical work from now on.

Update: I re-visited a local Harley dealer after work. A large Harley dealer on the South side of town. They are more than willing to help me out. I gave them a deposit. I will not see the bike until December, but I am getting exactly what I want. Initially I was getting the "this is all we are getting, take it or leave it". At least that is what I was understanding. I was wrong. When they understood that I was serious and willing to put money down, it all changed. I would rather have the bike now, but I am willing to wait. Thank all of you on this board for the spirited discussion, and for letting me vent. Soon I will have that "I got a new bike!" thread.

-Bill

Good to hear Miller -- glad you are getting sorted out!

I can understand some peoples issues with HD dealers and their treatment of us Buellers -- I have walked away from my dealership (HD of Seattle) due to those issues...BUT, and this is a huge "but", after talking with a member of this board (Cityxslicker) who works at another dealer in my general area (Legend) I decided to see what their Service people had to say about my issues and holy crap was I surprised! The tech looked at the area for a second, told me what was most likely wrong, made sure the parts to fix it where ordered and scheduled me in. This took all of 5 min.

I'm still waiting to see if the can deliver on the wrenching side of the equation but it was good to be treated decently. I don't need the RUBs to want to be my friend or like my 12R but it's nice to know some of the people who work there ride and enjoy Buells, or in Cityxslicker's case love to do absurd and crazy things with his! I mean really, you can see his tracks in the dirt in the lot next door.

So when your looking for a dealership -- ask who rides a Buell, and if they don't have a couple of Buellers keep walking.

I want a black '09 Scg. My salesman, whom my father and I have both purchased many bikes from, informed me that if I want a Scg in Sept, the only one available is a red one in SE WI. Maybe in Oct a black one might surface. I really don't have a reason to doubt him, even though he has no clue about Buells.

I will trade or buy bikes from any dealer that isnt selling them. We are exceeding our allocation of company direct vehicles that we are buying them from other dealers (as far as Virginia) to meet our local demand. WE are aggressively taking tradeins and buying bikes on auction. (speaking of which where are all the 2009 Blasts?) Dont have the model color year you are looking for ? Hell its all at the finger tips. We can get it, and at most times it is at or below MSRP to the customer.
Custom Exhaust, We can get Drummer, Remus, D&D, got a couple of Microns left and yes there is a custom exhaust of your own creation (that gets spendy though)
You need to find a dealer that will go outside of the box for your, barring finding one locally, come see me for a fly and ride. We are the last dealer before you hit the Pacific Ocean out of Washington. Check our inventory in the Sponsor section.
And yes that is my dirty orange CityX out front.
