Ok so i'm a poor college student...and to combat the poorness i deliver freaky fast subs for Jimmy Johns...On my 9R...lol

anyway my boss wants me to do advertise the JJ a lil more while on my deliveries so I want to buy or make a decal for my helmet that meets the following criteria:

1. It has to look like this(or at least the red 'JJ' part) ---->}

2. it has to be easily removable because i will be taking it off and putting it back on up to 4 times per week

I was also thinking of throwing this red mohawk on there as well ---->

oh and in case it bears relevance...this is the helmet it will go on --->

Tell your boss 2 buy you a helmet and pay for the stickers 2 put on it. Otherwise, tell him to go pack sand, in a nice way of course.

i would but when we go on deliveries its company policy that we need a topper on our car(those triangle things that say JJ on it w/ the phone number) so this was his compromise to let me use my motorcycle...

Maybe the boss could have a vest made for you. Then you can fly your JJ colors while you deliver.

How 'bout TT numberplates on the side instead?

Or "quick" connect/disconnect "plates" for the rear pegs that you can mark up w/ advertising? Bungee cords & cardboard = cheap & easy.

You could use a removable vinyl window sticker and peel it off the helmet when you're not working. There are a ton of online companies that will make custom stickers but I don't know what their minimum order would be. Also, they may not be able to use a trademarked logo like your company's.
Pinning a patch on a cheap jacket or something like Oddball suggested is a good idea too.

I used to work for JJ's and I gotta ask where do you put the sandwiches/drinks?

You need a different job or a different delivery vehicle. My bronco went kaput after 2 years of delivering for them all that start stop is going to be real hard on your bike. When I bought my 12r my boss asked if I was going to deliver on it and I just laughed at him.

I would make them pay for anything you put on. There are a lot of federal laws about what employees should and should not supply for themselves. And I'm pretty sure they couldn't force you to place something on your bike unless it is written somewhere in a company policy or your prehire job description.

i just put the merch in a backpack and the drinks i throw in an open ziplock bag(incase i spill which hasnt happened yet) next to the sandys...we stay pretty busy so rarely am i the only driver.

I dont plan on staying there for too long. I just moved to St Cloud, MN for school and it was the first and pretty much only job i could find right away...

Usually in the malls(Mall of America) they have a vinyl cutting machine that can make you just about anything you want, look they're usually in booths in the center hallways or search in the yellow pages for a sign co., just make a small sign in a plastic backing and fixed to your back pack.

tell them to make you a little flag say 10"x10" or so and mount it on the bike.
a t-shirt place could screen print it on both sides of an old shirt for you. then fold over one side, sew it and run a stick thru it to mount.

they dont make employees buy the roof top signs do they?

Got to remember, people, that this is a deal that he's worked out with his boss. Any push and the boss says the deals off.

It's a good time for cooperation.

I saw an ad somewhere for custom helmet skins which is probably what you really want but probably costs too much.

There's likely a custom decal shop near you that you could buy individual letters.

Seems to me there's also a decal kit for printers, like the t-shirt thing. Even stickers from Staples with the decal in the first post would work for a night at a time.

... and, btw, cool helmet.

Thanks Iamarchangel...yeah like i said earlier this is a compromise i made with the boss...and if i cant figure something out than i have to deliver in my Peice of ummm car(boat lol) that gets like 16 city mpg or not deliver at all and just make sandys...so yeah ill just call around town and see what i can get...
i was just gonna buy a cheap black helmet and paint it myself but i cant trust my head to a $40 helmet

I have thought of most of the other ideas like the flag and whatnot but i just thought the helmet would be the coolest...

but really thanks for all the help guys!

By the way if anybody wants to show me any great roads near st cloud mn id be happy to follow along

Here's my take, you have two options...

Option 1:

Get some thin flat metal (bendable but sturdy) 1 inch wide, say 24-36 inches long. Bend it in a "U" shape with 90 degree corners just wide enough so they come up on either side of your rear seat, add some gasket/rubbery material to the bottom of the "U" to keep it from slipping and nice and tight when you lock the rear seat down then just make up some flags or whatever and attach them to the upright parts and viola, advertising!

Option 2 (the easier option):

Tell your boss to cover the cost of a pair of soft rear bags (or just the rear seat bag), mount them, paint them black with the red "JJ"s and your good to go, with some extra cargo space to boot (thats a pun for any Brits out there ). Hey, maybe he would at least go havsies with you or maybe a Badwebber here might have a set they will part with for the cause -- if I had a set I would be happy to offer it.

Cheers and good luck and post pics!

if you can talk to ur boss, u can design a helmet skin from skullskins.net . im design one for me, then probly do one for the buell guys i ride with. but maybe ur boss with pay for 1/2 of the skin or atleast see if he will pay for the $25 setup fee..then u can put that symbol on there and what ever else u want..
