I bought an XB12R yesterday and I can see that I will want a taller windscreen. My bike is Arctic White with a Hero Blue windscreen, so here are my questions: 1. Which companies make the taller windscreens? 2. How well do the aftermarket blue versions match up (color wise) against the stick Hero Blue thats on the bike? 3. Which companies make the best product (fitment and durability)? I searched to no avail so any help will be appreciated, Bart |

Take a look here. I don't know about the blue color match, but they did a great job on the amber for the early 12R's http://www.zerogravity-racing.com/sportbikes/buell _sptbks/855.htm |

It looks like your two choices are right here (9r and 12r are the same body parts): http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-c atshow/xb9rwindscreens.html |

Watch your gauges as there have been a few melts when using non OEM screen shapes. |

The gauge melting only happens on the Double Bubble style. If you want the best wind protection go with the Sport Touring series. I have one on my race bike. I used it on the street first and it made a huge difference. Puts the wind up past your shoulder height. It also provides ample room when in a full tuck. Schmitty |

Close but no cigar... I would like to see the blue one as I have a white and blue bolt and wouldn't want the blues to clash. Thanks for the pic though. good looking bike you got there! |

I've got got a double bubble and in addition to the not so handy dash melting feature (cover the cluster with gloves or something when parking with sun directly behind you or it WILL burn), I've noted more turbulence than with the stock screen. I'm 5'8" and this wind screen puts my head directly in a turbulent/noisy area. If I raise or lower my head just a little bit, it's fine. It looks cool though so I deal with it |
