I just bought an 04 XB12S, but the seller traded someone and has a stock 2003 XB9 seat on it. I think I would like a different seat, so what is the best seat out there for an 04 XB12s?

I don't think the streetfighter has the gel insert that the select has.

I love the select seat myself.

Street fighter is comfortable as well. I have both. I actually like the SF better for some reason.

+1 for the select.
I have owned both a corbin and the select. Select wins hands down, for me.

a bit off topic, but does anyone know where I can possibly pick up a rectangular piece of gel pad? I'd rather try inserting that underneath my "SCG" seat and see if that makes it any better..

I actually don't mind the "lowered-SCG" seat really, I find it fairly comfortable. Granted, Im only 150 lbs.. It's just that Im looking for that tiny bit of extra comfort..

If this isn't an option, then i'll probably pick up a Select seat, since everyone seems to love them...

How about for a 2008 XB12Ss? According to Buell's site the Select seat won't fit on an '06-later XB12Ss - obviously something changed.

The soft factory seat isn't bad for short commutes to work, but I can tell even after 25 minutes that a better seat would be sooo much nicer on longer rides.

Anyone have thoughts for a good replacement seat like the Select on an '08 long Lightning?

Voo, why not try some of those gel shoe inserts. Not too big and are made to withstand pressure so breaking wont be an issue

Thump4fun, go with the tourer for the long. Great seat and if height is an issue there is a good amount of meat on the seat if you need to cut some out. I did and it is still really comfortable

Thanks Hammeroid, I'll take a closer look at the tourer seat based on your experience.

Has anyone tried out the Sport for the long? Or any of the Corbins? The Corbin "gunfighter" is ridiculously priced compared to the Buell seats - about 2x as much. If anyone has tried the Corbin I'm curious if they are really 2x as comfortable. :-)

I have the select seat and wouldn't ever sit on anything else! Seriously the best seat I've ever had on a bike, and it's only $200 if you buy it straight from Buell. Where are you located? Maybe you can find someone near you that has a select and see if it fits yours before purchase? Wait, my bro has an '08 XB9SX...I'll check it out tonight and post back!

Ran across that on a HD board the other day. They can install pads in your seat or you can.

Sorry it took me so long to try out my select seat on my bros '08 City-X. I put it on tonight and it fits GREAT!

So, go buy a Select Seat for your new bike : )
